I could argue that, but I don't feel like it and I don't want this to turn into a PC/Mac flamewar thread.

I guess so if you want something with a big screen. But the 12.1" E4200 is only 0.79" thick.

The Adamo's battery does not stick out of the back of the laptop at all. The laptop is designed that way so it can have full size ports while staying thin, something Apple hasn't done.

Our Dell rep brought this machine by the office last week also. It's definitely the Z series laptop and it is their first 16x9 display offering (opposed to the standard 16x10). It seems to fit somewhere in between an Adamo and an E-Series machine. It's zero spindle -- no internal optical drive and has a cool option for charging wirelessly .. I honestly can't remember if it's to charge the internal battery wirelessly or devices like cell phones.

I'm told middle of June for launch. This is targeted at business customers, likely executives. It's a big computer and has a lot of empty real estate around the keyboard. It has a nice feel to it. Our Dell rep also said they cannot send any information out, presumably because it'd end up right here.

Wow man, this thread is so full of FUD, it's not even funny.

Three different submissions, all about the alleged Latitude Z-series, from individuals who all just registered. Talk about a ride. The IPs should be traced, matched, banned and this thread closed. Move on guys, there is nothing to see here.

You seem a little sensitive monakh. I enjoy reading about the pieces others have learned about this new laptop. Don't see why everyone should be banned for talking about what they've seen. Helps paint the overall picture for this offering.

I can verify they're all different IPs and different users. It's not uncommon for new releases to be leaked in this fashion of people reporting them in the forums. At this point I'd say it's 99% credible. I've been here for six years and watched this kind of pattern of information leaked in the past. I'd expect an actual picture to surface this week or next on a blog before the actual release date and these users will be validated if history repeats.

Thanks for checking in, Andrew. I am actually surprised. Still skeptical though. As for posting IPs, I can post from three different IPs with different subnets and even countries as we speak. However, I AM in IT, so it's a different matter ;)

Echelon, I am not sensitive, just skeptical and would hate to see everyone get all excited about something that doesn't exist and waste their time. That's all. However, I will now shut up and take Andrew's advice :)

The question is, would someone really go to such lengths to convince us?
The reason suspicion is happening is that we're talking 3 brand new users who registered in a space of a few days just to comment on the same rumor. I'm still skeptical, but it does seem possible. Remember those rumors of a 15" Macbook Air? Maybe this was developed in response to the rumor by Dell. It might even get cloned into a big Adamo.

If this does come to fruition, I will be most disappointed in the 16:9 screen. Why, Dell? On a business-class notebook? (I'm having an angry fit here). And then, if they put in one of those ridiculous 1.2ghz processors...
At least the 1.6/1.86 series used in the MacBook air series, PLEASE!

Honestly I would be skeptical too. I've also been doing this long enough. On that note, I'll cease posting about it until something more official is released.
