Okay guys. Let’s cool our jets just a little. I know I may seem suspicious since I am new to Notebook Review Forums. But just like I said earlier, I have been waiting to see someone else post about this. Truth is, this is one of the first forums I’ve ever posted to. If you don’t believe me, that’s fine. I really don’t care.

I forgot to mention the contactless docking. My dell rep said that feature would roll out in Q4 of this year. He described it as a “pad” that you can simply lay the laptop on and it will charge. Not only will it charge, but it will also act as a full featured docking station. He mentioned something about a special keyboard and mouse set, but can’t remember any specifics. Pretty neat stuff.

Sorry about the Mac quote I said earlier. Working in Corporate IT, I get messed with by the Mac users all the time. I was only taking a jab at them. Some of you seem to get offended just like they do!

I misspoke when I said the battery sticks out like the Adamo. It simply has that “butt” or whatever you want to call it like the Adamo has. It’s just much sleeker looking.

Again, if you think I am full o’ crap, that’s fine. But if anybody else here works in IT, then you’ll know that most of us don’t have time to think up such stuff. Anyway, time will tell and certain people will have to eat their words. Later guys.

    Are you talking about me?
    What did I do?

Just to make it clear, I'm fairly convinced now as it is. That contactless docking would be nice, if only I had it...
We'll just have to wait those 2 weeks or to June or whenever that date is.

    I have seen it

Cableless charging using a pad. Induction recharges the battery. No ports. Bluetooth, wifi and 3G only means of connectivity.

Thinner and lighter than Adamo and Mac Book Air.

    not long honest

Its true. I heard about the touchless dock too, but I dont think it will be an option on the Dell Latitude Z series. Hope i'm wrong.

meh, I'll pass. I like usb, esata, and network ports. Sounds sort of like a $2500 + toy.

This sounds like something Apple would do. First, no button trackpad. Now, I can see no ports. That would be pretty cool, but I can't imagine it would be very practical. Video output? USB input (like cameras, etc?) Could I listen to my music (Dell could bundle wireless headphones :p)?

My boss just said that he saw the Z at a Dell event for ___ Department of Education and said that it was a thin 16 inch wide screen that may or may not be touch sensitive... I'll believe that when I see it.

This thing is as elusive as manbearpig...

Anyways, I don't think it sounds like a business machine but more like a business toy.
