Definitely not a NETBOOK. It was a full size Latitude Z series notebook. You'll see.

Do you work for a corporation that was given demo units or something? Any spy photos you can take with a cell phone :)

Give it some time, Greg. You'll eat those words, just you see.

I held it, booted it up, saw the pre-release security sticker covering the battery, and was told strictly no photos. Its the real deal.
I just keep hoping it will have more options than just the Intel video this one had.

If I am wrong about this model you can ban me from the site. Not sure why i'd bother making this up though. I have nothing to gain here other than rep points?!

It definitely said "Latitude Z" on it. And I believe the model will be called "Z600" for the 15in.
dell business division is desperate to sell anything to bring in revenue. they would need a new line of non performance ultraportables 12''-14'' under the magic number of $600.

So is this a higher end offering? Does it look like the current E-series? I'm trying to figure out if it's an update to the E-series or a new line altogether.

From the sounds of it, a new line altogether. Though nomoredell's info seems a little odd.

if dell indeed do have z series in theri pipeline, then the only possible target is communication sector--telecommunication & telemarketing.
its unlikely dell will use intel gpu though, nvidia integrated 9400m will soon dominate the entire igp market.

yeah nomoredell's comments were just a waste of my time.

I think this is a new line to compete against the Macbook Air

They already have the Adamo. I don't really see a reason for Dell to come out with new offerings, considering they have pretty much a product or two for every market.
