Well the holes are still off center, and Hp mxm card are much more similar to regular mxm card than these Aetina, cooling need to be modified a lot more

 

Well I can see the memory chips problem and the die being moved due to that but the cards outer dims are almost exactly the same, it's 5mm longer but the same width. That's only the rtx 5000 the rtx 3000 looks like a more standard setup at a glance, have to look at the drawings and compare.

the rtx 3000 has the same die center and mounting holes and over all dims as the 970m drawing in their catalog, only thing I can see might be a problem for HS mods is that the memory modules look slightly moved inwards towards the die on the rtx 3000 and scrunched to fit in between the die holes. Without looking at the drawings for the lower level ones they look like standard sizes as well.

Deas your ram runs at 2133MHz on 6700M?
If yes at what timings? I have hard time to force mine at 2133...

 

Yes, stock timings, depending on the stick, either 11-11-11-31 for TeamGroup or 11-12-13-31 for HyperX, and so without any tweaks, just plug and play with 2 sticks, however in 4x8GB configuration I need to lower the frequency to 1866MHz.
Also you need a CPU with a strong IMC otherwise it will not work/be stable, I had several I7 that couldn't handle 2133MHz memory frequency.

 

Does win10 automatically do the drivers now or is .ini modding still necessary? I guess this is just a general question as to all the mxm cards that didn't ship with m6700's to begin with.

 

inf modding is always mandatory for gpu that were never sold with the laptop

 

This isn't a Windows issue, but an NVIDIA one; the entries in the NVIDIA driver INF file contain identifiers for the GPU cards and the motherboards/system models that they should be paired with. NVIDIA could provide generic identifiers that would allow the GPU card to work with any motherboard/system model, if they so chose.

 

Hm not a big deal it's just that I put an m4000 in my m4600 and when I installed win10 and it was all automatic. I was hoping the same was true w other precisions and cards.
