Technically, you can have as many anti-virus and anti-spyware programs as you want. However, you need to have only one that is using active protection and use the other as on demand scanners only. AVs in particular tend to work against each other if there are more than one with active protection enabled.

A good call tijo. You need to pick one...and us it as your primary active virus detectors. The others you may have in waiting to bring on-line as reserves methods of detection.

Its not that you can't get good virus protection from a freeware, it's just that you may have to do a lot more "hands-on" to get the protection you need.

The best of the paid versions do the bulk of their work in the background with little or no help from you. Even so, no virus protection is foolproof; and you can still get a virus no matter what protection you have if you don't exercise prudence. Remember, YOU are the first and best layer in your virus protection, so tread circumspectly.

Can anyone tell me the correct English or Dutch name for this ?
I don't think it is called a CADDY, because I suppose A CADDY is a frame for HHD/SSD that fits into the DVD-bay.

But how do you call this ?

Bracket? But it can also be called a caddy.

Agreed. Either one is correct. Although I would go with "caddy" because it is almost a full enclosure, which "holds" the HDD, whereas to my mind a bracket has rather less substance to it and is more simply to attach something than to enclose it.

Certainly in the HDD world to call it a "caddy" would make a lot of sense. The fact that it is not designed to replace a DVD drive does not make it any less of a "caddy". Its function is the same.

    THX guys,

    One more question:

is a 9.5mm SATA Optical Bay Hard Drive Caddy Adapter an "universal thing" ????

I have such an adapter for my Thinkpad T43P and it doesn't dit in the Dell ?

Is this maybe because I have a slot loader DVD in my COVET ?

The optical bay in Dell Precisions is 9,5 mm high. Usually those things are universal and there are 9,5 mm and 12,7 mm ones.. But they can also have SATA and PATA connectors.

How tall is the Thinkpad one? If it's different from the Dell one, than maybe it's proprietary and not universal.

But, I think that T43 has a PATA connector anyway, so you definitely need a new adapter caddy for your Dell.

Have a look on eBay as I think you will find some far more favourable prices. I did buy a 12.7mm unit for my XPS M1710 and when researching there did seem to be a physical design difference for Lenovo models, with a little tab sticking out at the back of the caddy. You should be able to find a model suited to the Precision for only a few bucks, I would think. Mine cost £6 (~$10) including delivery.
