Its a good/better choice in a business application where time is money. Otherwise, the XPS is most likely competent enough to do those things you need it to do. That is, if you're asking between a choice between the two? The XPS was the first machine I looked into as an upgrade.

I think the major difference in the Precision is its structural integrity, reliability (due to hardier components), and support. So if price is no object, then that's the one to get.

Still, in the end Precision is also more powerful, but few users will reach, or ever need that level of performance to get the most out of it.

Tomorrow is my Red letter date. I get the go or no go on the purchase of my Precision. I'm not sure if I can stand the strain. Good luck with your choice.

    HI Krane
dell proposes me the free upgrade from xps to precision because of their fault about a problem I had with them.

many differences UltraSharp FHD(1920x1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED-backlit Premium and the IPS ?

Yes, you can mount two standard 2.5" drives internally. There's also an mSATA slot so you can have a third drive (a tiny mini-card SSD like this).

    Problem:
Tethering with win8 64Bit and iOS6 iPhone 4 doesn't works via WLAN with intel centrino n6205
    driver: 15.3.1.2 from 2012/30/09

All my other notebooks with win7 64 bit are able to tether with this iPhone

Is it a known bug? Has anybody the same issue?

    Thanks in advance

For me, I'm more interested in Optimus than IPS. I'm not in graphics so the color doesn't matter to me quite as much. The TN panel is top notch (for a TN panel), best notebook panel I ever had. IPS has still better color and viewing angle, and is pretty much the best notebook panel you can get in those regards.

I agree with Aaron, aside from the 95% gamut TN panels found in some Sagers and Lenovos, the M6700's TN is top notch.

    Thanks for your help Aaron.
TN panel is the anti glare panel you have on your pc, correct?
About optimus: what do you mean? that optimu does not work with internal gpu hd4000, so the nvidia card is always actived?

    ciao!

so tijo you also say the "stadard" monitor of 6700 is good for photo editing and I can save money avoiding IPS?
