Your Nvidia drivers are crashing. You most likely don't have the latest version. I know that Nvidia did release a driver, I forgot the version, where there is bug that is crashing all the time... you probably have that version.

Always check the manufacture website for the latest drivers.

    Try these they work great:
    NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.63 BETA
Be sure to uninstall the old drivers first (to clear all settings), restart your computer, and install the one downloaded.

    I can play SC2 on my E6400, which feature a low-end GPU.
I can play the game perfectly fine (30fps with 2 large armies), at minimum settings (but with some little options like 3D figures turned ON), and at 1440x900.

I suspect that with the E6410 GPU, you can push it to a medium-low (which is actually a big step in SC2) settings at 1440x900.

Cool. Installed and under the device manager it appears there but for some reason, it's not reading anything. The SD card is fine too as I've tested it just now. Is there something I need to do to "activate" it?

o Is SD device present and enabled in Device Manager?
o Is SD card inserted and healthy? Does Windows respond?
o Does Explorer display the drive? Note the Win7 Folder Options/View setting to NOT display empty drives.
o Does Computer Management/Disk Management display the drive?
o Are there any SD settings in the BIOS?
o Try a different SD card?

Any other device drivers you might have skipped? See the Dell re-image guide.

Looks like I joined the club, I acquired a refurbished Red Dell E6410 for my work. I must admit being a long time ThinkPad user some of the setup on the E6410 is a bit alien to me. Thankfully I have a friend who owns a Latitude himself and guided me in the right direction for the required apps and drivers.

There are a few questions I like to ask:

    - On average how many processes do you guys have running on your E6410 (say from startup)? After reinstalling Windows 7 Professional x64 from scratch, all the drivers installed and antivirus running I get around 42, though I have an inkling that this may bit a tad too high?

-I like to add a second hard drive bay at some point, putting the SSD in the main bay and the large capacity hard drive in the second bay. Any references on which adaptor I need for the system? Thinking of swapping the optical drive for the caddy if possible, also would like to fit a 2.5" hard drive and not the 1.8" drives.

    - I do find it takes a bit of time for the machine to enter into the BIOS with the Dell logo on. I updated it to version A05, put minimal boot on and yet it feels sluggish. I used other Dells and they seem to start up to BIOS logo almost instantly. Any suggestions on what I can do speed it up a little? Just a note I have the Latitude ON feature but I turned this feature off from the BIOS if this helps.

Damn. I thought my red E6410 was unique.

42 processes does not sound too many IMO. How much RAM and %CPU are they using? (add the CPU time column to your processes tab. This shows the cumulative CPU time for each process and gives a better indication of CPU usage).

See the first thread in this forum. It also applies to the E6x10 series.

I am also seeing a bit of a delay between power on and the BIOS screen. This may be worth investigating and the cause could be having some non-existent hardware selected in the BIOS setup.

This is common to see this under high-end custom build computers. It's usually the powerful GPU that needs to boot up, once done, then the BIOS boots and start the rest of the computer (checks RAM, other internal devices, start all controllers, and stuff, which then detect there things like storage devices, and then start the installed boot system which in turn start the Operating System.
Usually getting a low end graphic card, even from the same series, solves the problem. The wait is usually 1 to 2 seconds depending on the graphic card manufacture. It's all I know a as for sure statement that it's correct.

I've looked through the BIOS setup and there is a Fast Boot setting with 3 options: Minimum, Through and Auto. Minimum should work OK and involves less checking.
