    1. Again, not neccessary. In this case, it sounds as if we're talking about a bent bezel on a notebook procured from the outlet.

    2. Might be counterproductive and more likely to cause damage than offer protection.

    3. Mousepads are an anachronism from the days of mechanical mice.

I wish I found this forum sooner, found it by searching for reviews on the E6410. There is a lot of good info in this thread and plan on reading it in its entirety tonight.

I just bought a refurbished E6410 from Dell. I had been searching EBay and Dells site to find one with the specs I was looking for and luckily it was there Sunday so I snagged it up.

Windows 7 32 bit (work program won't do 64 bit)
    9 Cell Battery
WXGA LED Display (use laptop outside a lot, a must have)
    Webcam (will probably never use)
160GB 7200 RPM hard drive (Should be plenty)
    i5-520M Processor
    4GB DDR 1333MHz
    Bluetooth 375 Dell
    512MB NVIDIA NVS 3100M
    Backlit Keyboard

All for $759 including shipping. Good deal?? I think so.

Only thing I would have liked is the fingerprint reader. I searched Dell's site and other sites to see if I could buy one and install it myself but haven't been able to find the part. If anyone knows how to get on and if it requires a new/different Palmrest please let me know.

Yeah, good enough deal. You may find that you can live without the fingerprint reader.

So far I have found 2 refurbs out of 2 that have issue with bezel out of the box. First one was a D630 and a screw was not all the way in causing the bezel to warp outward. Second this E6410 the bezel wasn't all snapped together properly. There is probably something out of wack inside there.

Looking at installing a bluetooth module in this E6410 as well. Looks like the stock option would have been a Bluetooth 375. Wonder if the same form factor 365 would work?

Read the 20 disassembly steps required before you get to the BT module shown in the picture. You may want to get someone else to do the job for you.

Just got my refurb E6410 from Dell today. Cosmetically all looks ok.

I do have a question and I am not sure if it's user error or with the computer.

I set it so when I close the lid it goes to sleep. I can open the lid a few minutes later and it wakes up sometimes. However if I leave it closed for a period of time (not sure how long) when I open it the only light that appears is the on/off button. I pressed the keyboard and the keyboard lit up (once) but nothing else. I had to force it to power off.

Same thing if I leave it on for a while and it goes to sleep, the power button is illuminated but I can't get it to wake up. I get blue light indicators and can hear the fan or HD spinning but again no display. I had to again force it off to power cycle it.

No sure I know the difference between hibernate and sleep but none the less shouldn't the laptop power back on from either state and wake up?

Please tell me it's just a setting.

Again, I just closed the lid waited a minute or two and opened it back up. No display. I can hit the keyboard and it lights up but thats all.

Check your bios revision, that was one of the items fixed.

Thanks, it's A05. That's the latest version right?
