Yes, it fits and works. The only difference is that the Fn markings are white instead of blue. Oh, also, it lights up.

Hey, does anyone have a notebook sleeve for the e6410 they can recommend? I have a 6 cell battery. I was looking at the Dell Neoprene sleeve for 14 inch laptops and Ive heard that they were actually made for the 9 cell and has a lot of room left if there is no 9 cell battery.

The bolded part is the wrong stance to take. Check out my post about the E6410 screen vs my E6500. My E6500 has very good viewing angles for a laptop... almost like it's in between TN and IPS quality. Meanwhile the E6410 has a nearly unusable screen.

my issue is that there isn't even a "narrow ideal" on my display...

my display is the samsung / SEC5442. dell tech support agreed to replace the screen, but i'm kinda stuck. i was cheap and went for the base return-to-depot warranty, which wouldn't ordinarily present a problem for me, except for right now: if i return the system for them to replace the screen, i will not get it back until my return period has expired.

i'm concerned that the new screen may not be any better than the current one (if i'm just being pickier than others) and i'l be stuck owning a system I don't want. I know i could sell it, but that's a hassle, and may involve some additional expense on my part.

so i'm leaning towards just returning this thing while i still can, likely replacing it with an e6510 with the full-hd display, if i can find a decent config on the outlet.

After reading a recommendation somewhere around here I bought this Philips sleeve.
You can see it in action in this video. It's got one hard side and one soft. I took a chance
with the stated measurements and it turns out the E6410 is a perfect fit with the six
cell battery. Snug with no extra room. I like the extra protection of the rigid side. It's
also got a handle that hides away inside.

I snagged mine on eBay for 30 $US new, or you can get it from Amazon here.

I suppose if you're in Europe the corner store probably carries it...

I've got the Belkin BR14 and it fits the 6-cell nicely.

The Samsung option was the least good WXGA+ display option on the E6400. Your problem is that Dell might install another Samsung panel depending on whatever comes off the shelf.

I'll be sure to check mine when I get it in 2-3 days :(
So, LG is good so far?
On the side note, when people say good or bad, you mean out of the box or still bad even after calibration. Just wonder, I'm sure not everyone here have access to calibration device like spider or alike.

That looks like exactly what I wanted, but is there any difference with the "Designed for Dell" version of it?

BELKIN COMPONENTS Black Laptop Sleeve - Fits Laptops with Screen Sizes Up to 14-inch - Designed for Dell : Laptop Accessories | Dell

I cant really tell from the pictures, but I think they look similar..

I have the Dell sleeve, 14x11x1.875" when loaded with 6-cell... a bit less than an inch of space where the 9-cell would sit. It loads and zips around easily... yes, could be tighter but then it would start to behave like a wetsuit. The top and bottom are pile-lined neoprene about 0.25"+ thick; zippers around half-way down sides with 2 rubber-gripped zipper pulls; the remaining sides are hefty but soft textured nylon sort of like ballistic cloth; inside seams are covered with soft nylon fabric; Dell logo on each side.

Unless you need something skin-tight, its a fine black protective sleeve that will allow the larger battery.

I also use the sleeve Dell sells for 14-inch laptops. It's very good, very lightweight and I don't need to remove my laptop from the sleeve at airport checkpoints.
