@GoodBytes, my 17" CRTs are very good EIZO/Nanao tubes and do not have a native resolution like digital displays. They will display a variety of resolutions very well. I preferred 1024x768 on a 17" CRT... and I liked that res on a 15" LCD since the LCD image quality is much improved over that of CRTs.

Edit. Thanks for the input. It sounds like I may find 1440x900 to be smaller than what I am use to, currently 1024x768 on a 15" LCD. I'll adjust.

    Thanks for the review.

@GKDesigns: If you haven't read my E6400 review (link below) then do so.

Also, if you are not into 3D graphics rendering or 3D games then the Intel GPU is very good. It can handle a pair of high resolution displays, while you also get a cool running computer.

You forgot to mention if it's an Intel or Nvidia GPU that you have ;)

Dell has posted Webcam software on the drivers page now http://support.dell.com/support/dow...1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=25&fileid=286154, but it won't install unless Webcam Central is already installed. I loaded my E6400 from scratch and do not have Webcam Central. The only version I can find is here http://support.us.dell.com/support/...eid=r168730&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=229607, but it doesn't recognize the Webcam in the 6400. Did Vista E6400s come with Webcam Central installed? Anyone know where I can download it? The app looks like a must have, so any pointers would be appreciated.

Anyone have tips of case sizes and shapes? I am getting the slice battery so that could result in a need for some sort of flexibility in the case.

So far I am leaning toward getting a "Brain Bag" from tombihn.com; which has two compartments which can accomodate a notebook; I could put the e6400 in one and the slice in the other.

Does the e6400 use the slice battery first and then the primary? In that situation I would always be able to take the slice off to put the battery and slice in the case without worrying about the primary battery being depleted.

If it is any clue, prior to installing the new software my only access (with XP) to the webcam software was through Dell ControlPoint. Perhaps the basic webcam central is buried in there.

My E6400 came with a number of CDs and one of them contains "Dell Webcam Central for Business".
