Seems like the chassis is bent. It's very rare but has happened before.
The results for my WD5000BEVT are in this thread. However, that was a DIY upgrade from the stock 160GB 5400rpm HDD (now kept as backup in case I need to restore the original setup).

This week I have seen an e6400 and e6500 with the exact same specs:

    P8600, 2 GB DDR2, 250 GB 7.200 rpm HDD and 256MB Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M Graphic Card.

However, the "Graphics" in Windows Experience Index (Vista Business) was:

    e6500: 4,4
    e6400: 3,4

How is this possible? Both laptops have the same version of the drivers.

By the way, what is the Windows Experience Index in your e6400?

    Thank you!!

WEI is for entertainment value only. As you can see, it can give significant different results for what appears to be the same hardware and software. I can't give my score since I have XP.

Assuming both our scales are accurate then that is 0.070kg (0.15lb) heavier than my E6400 with the Intel GPU (see my review - link below - for photo). Do you have WWAN or Bluetooth (I don't)? These would contribute to the weight, but I suspect the main difference is the nvidia GPU + extra thermal assembly (but my E6400 contains enough cooling system to handle a dedicated GPU).

    About the screens...:

e6400 have LG screen and e6500 "AUO"... e6400 seems to me more brilliant, but e6500 have best contrast.

By the way John, I have some doubts with respect to Express Card or PC-Card NVIDIA GPU.

This e6400 have Express card base: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M, 256MB, but the expansion slot is "empty" (available for insert an "express card").

The question is: why NVIDIA GPU is "related" with the expansion slot? I thought that the "GPU" was an "Express Card"...

Thank you! (and sorry for my English!!)

Because the GPU is soldered in the motherboard (I saw it, when my motherboard was being replaced (If you ask, the CPU is not soldered in, you can actually easily change that)). So you just choose which pre-manufacture motherboard setup you want, in reality.
