I had installed the turbo memory with a 4 gb capacity, but it does not seem to work properly. When I first install the driver v1.7, the driver works and the console would state readydrive/user pin is active. After configure the programs acceleration, i reboot the laptop.

I recheck the console and it would said readydrive/use is deactivated. What the deal. Also, I check the device driver manager, TM was install properly and enable. And had try v1.8 driver. No go and same deal.

Anyone here had any insight to this issue.

    Runnig on Vista 64

Thank you for you replies to my noise level questions. I have one more question however:

Will there be a significant increase in noise if i choose the NVIDIA Quadro card over the dedicated one? Has anyone compared the two?

The Quadro NVS 160M is not a heater.
The fan only kicks in at low speed (quiet) when I play long or several Flash videos (youtube). Medium speed when I play a game (FarCry2). Or when I set my system to high performance power option in Vista and have it plug-in (as everything is powered up at normal speed) after some time (several hours). In any case, in a class room, typing with Word, recording class, and have firefox open, power Saver mode, the fan doesn't turn, even if the machine is warm. It is hard to kick the fan ON, for this machine.. well for me that is. Dell did a great job on the cooling. One part of teh cooling system is that the heat is spread on all the base of the machine.

I am a picky guy when it comes to noise... and this machine is very quiet.

We get it. You love 64-bit Vista. The rhetoric is getting a bit much though. "Throwing money out the window"??? Please.

There may be any number of reasons why a user might want 32-bit Vista or XP, from corporate support and deployment to what applications and third-party peripherals will be run.

it's ok to order the 32-bit, but why then you buy 4GB of ram when you can use only 3gb?

It's actually more like 3.5 GB. And you'll be hard pressed to notice any difference. Old games, third-party programs and more information online is reason enough to stick to 32-bit for now. When I get 8 GB I will switch.

Because it's only configurable with 1, 2, 4, or 8GB and you can get a benefit from 4GB over 2GB.
