You have ignore the last one as this is where I took the screen shot with the snipping tool in Vista. Well I record with a studio level software which I think records in RAW and then convert it into MP3.
Also remember that I am on battery right now.

    If I stop recording I get ~250-300

There are extensive threads here discussing latency issues with the E-Series. DPC reports over 10,000usec(?) (in the red). When I remove the ODD/DVD, DPC drops low into the green. Early on, I did some quick test recording running REAPERx64 with a Line6 X3 Live connected via USB. That seemed ok then, but some later trials by the user (my daughter) were not succesful, but not latency related. I have not had access to investigate further. My concerns are latency, beta REAPERx64, and Line6 AISO drivers on the x64/IDT sound platform... much to look into before recommending the E-Series for recording. I would post a separate thread looking for an owner using the E-Series for recording... and check recording software forums.

It was found that the Latency issue reported could be fixed by using the older version of Intel Matrix Driver and use AHCI instead IRRT mode.

I'll test later on with the power... but you forgot to add yours. But, isn't your system has issues?

What bout using the newest version? I'm trying those out right now, and just listening to music it seems less choppy and staticy.

    Thanks for the reply.
How do you feel the laptop, i mean, heat and stiffness. I am a thinkpad guy for 5 years, so basicly I only know thinkpad doesnt heat up quickly, and the plastic area is also stiff due to roll cage. However, i want to go for DELL, E6400 or M4400, so I want to see how the new dell design compare to Thinkpad lenovo

I can't compare directly to a thinkpad, but it's really solid. The magnesium doesn't feel like metal metal, but all around really well built. And it handles with heat really really well, and this is after numerous gaming sessions with pretty intense games.
