This laptop, with the Nvidia video card does not heat up. Because not only they put the CPU, GPU and motherboard northbridge on reverse. So the heat is not directed to the palm rest. If you play games, it will be of course warmer, but that is if you have a temp gun, because you won't even notice it. Heck I even I even overclocked my GPU quiet a bit (almost as fast as the Geforce 9600M GS) :D. It also uses the metal base as heatsink.

It's a very quiet machine with my 5200RPM HDD.
The laptop is freaking solid, heavier than a normal low cheap end laptop, but not super heavy. (Weights on Dell website). I have the 9-cell battery and I find it far from being heavy at all, and I don't go at the gym. The laptop feels very sturdy. The keyboard (backlit version) has no flex. If you apply high pressure, it will bend a bit.. but that is protect your screen... but it does not flex at all when you type. Touchpad is good but not great... not the best but far from being the worst.

This laptop comes in Canada with 3 year warranty with 3 year next business day onsite service, this means a technician comes at your place at the time you want (starting the nest business day) with the parts to fix your laptop in front of you.Or you can do that yourself.

Can you explain what you are using hardware/software for this? I've been wanting to try that for a long time, but never had a decent guide. I dont have it yet, but Ill have the E6400 for my last year of classes.

The LED screen is just amazing, totally put glossy screens to shame. I'm afraid I can never go back to seeing my reflection when I go to boot up my computer. Especially when you turn up Digital Vibrance, it looks even better. Also, the brightness levels can go VERY high.

Question: is intel matrix storage manager even necessary? If so, for what? And can i uninstall DCP? also, if i disable the cd drive, will that have the same affect as uninstalling it (trying to control latency issues)?
