I am lost. What are you talking about?
You can't apply WindoBlinds and Aero at the same time. You have to choose: CPU (Aero Basic or other themes) or GPU render (Aero)

I'm not using WindowBlinds. I'm talking about manually applying a visual theme after replacing the default system32 files to enable custom visual themes.

does E6400 support DDR3 memory? or the bandwidth only limited to 800? coz from DELL E6400 data sheet, it states the memory bandwidth is 800MHz. BTW, I thought the video card has DDR3 memory, but i was wrong. its actually DDR2.

Please read this forum thread before posting.
This question question was asked a few pages ago.

The Latitude E6400 only supports DDR2 RAM. DDR3 for laptop, today, is not worth it. You would get only 1-2% increase in performance.
The laptop support 800MHz RAM which is enough for such system.

random observation -- I just eeked out over 70 minutes on 14% (20 - 6) on my 9 cell on my e6500 (with nvidia, T9400). Took a lot of tweaking of windows 7, wireless, aero disabled, etc., but d@mn, thats over 8 hours if i held it at that, and ive had this machine (and battery) since september.

the NVS160M is actually different in the e6400 and e6500 machines. the e6500 NVS has DDR3, the 6400 has DDR2.

i don't believe you can uninstall the chipset, i think that is irreversible, but you can install over it. and the system software also probably cannot be uninstalled, as it is mainly a compilation of hotfixes, which themselves are often uninstallable. other than that, you can. Can I ask why in particular? if you are trying to troubleshoot a particular behavior, try upgrading the driver (if it cannot be uninstalled). if the system feels a bit SNAFU, I would strongly suggest a clean install of vista, and although GB disagrees with me, I would consider windows 7, as on this hardware, it is quite stable indeed. (7057 is a vast improvement over 7000).

i dont think im quite ready to move to windows 7 yet, and i REALLY dont feel like reinstalling windows, so i was going to try to uninstall all the drivers and then install them again and see if that helps with my annoying volume related issues.

I wont move to Win7 unless the final win7 is released and DELL has all the driver for E6400.
