anyone? I contacted dell...they told me that the touchpoints should be the exact same. I guess they want to give me another one and see if that is any better, and if not ill just keep this one. It seems this one has more flex in the middle than the old one did. The backlight is great though. Typically i would be annoyed by things like this, but their customer service really is quite nice to work with.

If Dell comes to the conclusion that the touchpoint is the same, it's probably (my guess), that both keyboard are made by the same manufacturer. But you will see. These things are hard to judge upon, because everyone likes a different feel. For example, I may like a keyboard that other hate, because of it's layout or distance between keys or size of keys, etc... It is nice for them to send you a new keyboard... I am sure if you got a computer to a store and used the store warranty, they will tell you "It works.. then it's not covered" or some bad- attitude like that.

Sorry, if I sound and sounded not very helpful. I try to avoid commenting on such topic as again everyone likes different feel, and also this is my first laptop... so it's kinda hard to compare. (I also got a laptop mouse, when I play games or deeply use my system because the touchpoint and touchpad for me doesn't quiet cut it.)

i guess so. i wouldnt say its utterly horrible, but with the other one i could press down and move it around in a circle/however i wanted comfortably. with this one, if i press down too hard at all, it will like, move really jumpy. ill swap the other keyboard back in and see if im not just crazy.

Definitely both + and - R and RW and probably dual layer and maybe DVD-RAM.

My burner (the PLDS DU-8A2S) has this range of functions.
