Thank you for replying to my question. I have been trying to get the backlight to work for almost 4 hours now i bet it doesnt have it. Is there a marking on the right arrow key on the ones that have the backlit keyboard? mine had no marking, however the other 3 arrow keys all have blue markings on them indicating brightness adjustment. Pretty much i need to figure out how to determine for sure if mine has it or not. I was supprised dells customer service wouldnt help me they litterally hung up on me when i said i got it off Ebay.

Thank you for the reply, you just confirmed my thought. Mine does not have the backlight, do you know if its possible to simply buy the backlit keyboard and install it? I use the computer a lot in my repo truck at night while working and i think it would be nice to have.

What is the max. resolution of the Intel 4500 graphics via DVI?
Should be sufficient for a 22'' monitor?

you definitely can. not sure if you can buy direct from dell, i cant seem to locate the part on their site, but the part number is HT514, and you could pick one up here, for instance. http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=5651 that was just one of the results off of google. just google dell and that part number.

-- it is stupidly easy to install the keyboard.
