Your router could be a different draft version of N.
N is still not slenderized. You could try a firmware upgrade on your router. But you should try a different router, In my case, the wireless card connects properly with my Linksys N router, which is draft 2.0, if I am not mistaken (well the latest one).

"Standardized" is the word. I reiterate the previous suggestion to check for the latest router firmware.

At the present rate of progress there will be a new standard before n is finally agreed.

    1. I will check that next time. Somehow I still believe that the processor load of 50% was what made the fan run fast and something is not right with winlogon.exe.

    2. I'm running A12.

This morning I didn't have the problem.

I plan to upgrade my 160 GB hard drive to a WD 500 GB. I checked several drive image software. Macrium Reflect shows that there are three partitions on my disk:

    - DellUtility - Primary, FAT-16, 107MB
    - Recovery (D:) - Primary, NTFS, 2GB
    - OS (C:) - Active, NTFS, 146GB

OS (C:) is the partition I am using. When migrating to the new drive, should I create all three partitions and restore each partition image? Would this mean the following procedure?

    1. Attached the new drive through USB as an external drive
    2. Use tools to create partitions: DellUtility and Recovery stays the same and make OS(C:) 4xxGB
    3. Restore partition images to each partition

Would that work? Or is it possible to back up the whole computer and the software will be smart enough to ask me how I want to resize the partitions b/c of a bigger size hard drive?

    Thanks!

Some of you might remember the problem I had with dell outlet where I got a CCFL screen instead of the advertised LED one.So they sent me 2 laptops so far with the CCFL screen. I returned both of them. I'm returning the original laptop and getting a full refund.

I guess I'll need to wait until the next deal to get a new latitude. I'm never ordering from the outlet again unless its a real good deal. My original E6400 is a new bought and I haven't had any problems with misrepresented specs, but the guys at the outlet keep sending me the stupid CCFL screens. If only the 13 inch Vostro had a backlit keyboard option with an LED backlight, then it'd be perfect. Its a shame Dell chose to neuter it like that.

Btw, as long as HP and Levano have whitelists, I'm never going to buy from them. I got a big wakeup call when I encountered HP's WLAN whitelist on my V2000Z. It was a horrible experience. Right now, dell is the only option for me because they don't whitelist their products.

Some software (Acronis + Casper in my limited experience) have options to manual resize the partitions when cloning. I would actually clone all three partitions to the same size and then create one or more new partitions to use the remaining space. I like to keep my user files out of C: so they are safer if there's a need to wipe and rebuild C:.

Check out my temps. This is with my back raised with a book. HWmonitor was on the whole time from bootup from sleep to now. I played a hefty day of TFT2.

What's so special about this pic?

CPU temps are normal, although idle (value) temps could be lower. GPU temp could be lower on idle too.

Ok, just pointing out the high of 91C GPU (highest I got was 99C with PCMark Vantage benchmark, didn't raise the back and it was the first day I had it).

The "special part", i'm sure if you have seen the pic you will notice the min value of 5C on the gpu. How is this possible? I was playing TFT2 at the time, and hit alt-tab. I went to the bathroom while it went to the desktop. When i came back into my room, I heard the fan, which seemed extremely loud to me, but I wasn't sure; I was using my headphones when i was playing. On top of that, the fan usually shut off or slowed down when I alt-tabbed, since nothing was stressing the GPU. I checked the temps, and voila, it was 5C somehow.

Could someone explain that to me?
