I am not going to deny a manufacture error, but if the issue pursists:
Do you have a ground on your power supply, and how about your wall plug. Remember that it's important, even critical that the place you live in is up to code with your city/state/province/country laws.

Ouch...hopefully the replacement will arrive before you get totally electrocuted! I suppose this is one of the few negative points of using magnesium alloy....

The reason for this is that every processors and memory (northbridge, CPU, GPU and RAM) are on reverse pointing down to leave your laptop keyboard and palm rest the coolest as possible, and make your system easily serviceable.
Also, the base is in metal.. it conduct heat better than plastic so it feels "more hot" than a normal laptop, and to top thing over, the metal base of the laptop is used as a heatsink.

Don't worry about the warmness of the laptop. But it should not be hot, hot.

My E6400 only gets slightly warmer than room temp even under heavy load. I originally had a different E6400 with the nVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M graphics card and it felt a bit toasty at times...but I sold it and have one with the Intel integrated graphics now and it stays cool (and the fan doesn't run a lot either). :D

Hi, it's strange, since this morning the paint on my left speaker start to leave just by scratching it with the nail, no problem on the right one. Will they repaint it if I send it for warranty or should I scratch the speaker entirely to give it an all metallic style? (I was thinking to send it back anyways because the fan makes an annoying noise) Also, I'm french and will go back to France soon. The laptop has been purchased in the United States. Will I have to deal with Dell US or can I contact directly Dell France? Thanks for your answers.

    See the thread here

Is it just the fan working full speed or is it really a noise that shouldn't be there? In the former case, this may relate to the overheating thread elsewhere on this forum. I had/have a similar issue and cleaning out the vent on the inside already helped significantly. There have been earlier reports of fans working aggresively when docked as well.

I think the noise shouldn't be here because if I hold the laptop so that the keyboard is in a vertical position, the noise just disappears.
