Is that something native to Windows XP, or is it an installed Dell component?
The only thing I can think of in Windows like that would be right click my computer > properties > system properties..
but I dont see anything relating notifications settings.

While I am at it with this post, on the Dell Resource CD, it lists 4 audio drivers - 2 Rev A05 and then Rev A01, Rev A03, does it matter which one I select, likewise there are multiple checked for Webcam, Wireless, etc

    Thank You

In Dell ControlPoint, there is a "System and Devices" tab/module. There is a button that says "Manage System and Devices" which will launch the "System and Devices Manager". There, you should see the options to adjust the notifications.

I recommend using the website to obtain the latest drivers and applications. Pick the latest driver on the CD if you're installing from there ( Driver Rev A** with the highest **).

These are my Windows experience ratings:

I understand my GPU isnt great, but I dont like the way Windows thinks it bottlenecks the system. Do these look like fair scores? I am reasonably happy with them, just wish the graphics were a 4 or better... :)

BTW - i know it says battery, but i ran it while on mains power.

    Specs are in sig

Yes everything is perfect on your side.
My Gaming score is a bit lower (5.1) but that is due that I have a slower CPU (5.9). Although, I don't get how you got 6.2 for RAM. I have DDR2 800MHz 4GB timings of 6-6-6-18.

I have the Intel graphics & get 4.1 for desktop performance, 4.9 for gaming! CPU is P8600 (5.8). I have a Seagate Momentus 7200.3 HD & get 5.9.

Yes it's normal that the Intel option has better "desktop performance" as it has 128-bit memory instead of the 64-bit like Nvidia option.

WEI should not be considered too seriously, especially not to consider it as a way to compare hardware performance, just based on that score.
Real world results are a different thing.

I have another example of this.
I have a system with a AMD Athlon XP 2500+ with 1GB of RAM DDR1 with a Geforce FX 5900 SE (Sucky edition). This video card is excessively old. It has a score of 5.9 under Vista for Aero, but open 5-6 windows and let the choppiness begins. This AGP video card can't even play Half Life 2 (under XP or Vista) properly at low settings. So that tell you something.

No better. In fact it is worse. I upgraded to the latest version of the Security Manager Application 1.3.00000 from 1.2.01001 as well as the drivers to 1.3.039 from 1.2.35. After a reboot I get the following error message "Unable to unlock data as your TPM device is not ready. You may need to wait a few minutes for your TPM device to come up and try again." Does it on both my E6400 and E4200 under Windows 7 x64. I downgraded the software to the previous version and all works well. I have opened a case with Wave.
