Yes I am using the Premier Color Application. I am still learning how all of the software interacts.

@Bokeh, @rproeber - I don't remember, if I asked you that, but have you got uniformly white screen (with no green/magenta corner tints)?

I appreciate the detailed reply very helpful

The recovery discs are a must and I agree that will work for os install on new ssd but what I was asking about was Dell Hard Drive or ssd Data Recovery Service which is I think a warrantyish type service that will recover saved files from a bricked drive at least that is what I assume I am searching for advice on any experience with this service from any who have used it or thoughts on weather it is worth it as I know most Tech Support outfits can do the same thing for possibly a lower cost and only if or when needed

I wonder though if I order 4g 1600 ram from dell if it comes as 1 4g stick leaving me 3 free spots that I could fill with 4g 1600 sticks of my own Or if I am reading your post right then I buy 8g 1600 from dell aka 2 4g sticks leaving 2 slots open for my own use

Another thought I had is ordering msata from dell with cheapest hdd unfortunately you cant order msata as only drive but I would throw out hdd and add 2 ssd drives of my own btw is your drive 6gb/s and how easy was it accessing the 4 ram slots as I am def not a computer technician of any sort

I only ordered mine with 2GB of RAM and this was a single stick so I didn't use it. I'm not sure what Dell ships with for sizes or quantities when ordering more than 2GB.

Yes, the Corsair Force GT is a SATA 3 6Gb/s drive.

Yep thanks for those they worked a treat. All was turned on so I suppose I have to manage the battery usage myself a bit better as it still seems to supp them up rather quick. I am not even getting 3 hours on simple photoshop editing.

As I said, I don't know anything about calibration, nor do I know how to use the new Dell Premier Color application. I wish I did know this, but if you Google "Dell Premier Color application" you get one result and it is from this thread. If you eliminate the space between Premier Color you get two results, both from this thread.

When I set my background to white, it is definitely not white, and it is definitely not uniform. It is a kind of gray and pink. While the colors look uniform in the corners, the entire panel is more gray to the full right side and as your eyes move left, it seems to gradually turn to be pinkish-gray.

Bokeh, when you set your background to white, does the background look like a pure white, or does it look similar to what I've described?

When I set the PremierColor profile to "Full" it has a slight red tint to it. When I set it to "Default" it looks much more neutral.

My screen is even overall. I will be posting pictures later on.

Sorry again, I just noticed that I only answered some of your questions before and forgot one. About how easy it is to access the four RAM slots, the two on the bottom of the computer are extremely simple. The two under the keyboard, called the Secondary Memory by Dell are not as simple of course.

When you go to access the ones under the keyboard, do not follow the instructions on in the owners manual exactly! I mean, the fourth and final step they give you in the Removing Secondary Memory area are to:
    4. Remove the keyboard.
When you click on that link, it shows you how to remove the keyboard. There are some folks who have posted on this forum that have done just as the instructions say. But you certainly don't need to remove the keyboard, you only need to unscrew the keyboard so that you can tip it up out of the way (put something protective between the screen and keyboard so that you don't scratch it) and access the memory slots.
As I said some folks have completely removed the keyboard including more dismantling than you need to do!
