It's true. I've seen a few in the outlet with that card.

Edit: It's also in the technical specifications:

The 6250 and 6300 are close to each other in performance and range on the networks I use. Both are very nice. If you have a 3x3 capable router, the 6300 will reward you with faster speed.

The 1501 is nothing special. Only makes use of 1 antenna, so you lose speed and range. If you use VPN or Remote Desktop sessions where it is important for the connection to be as stable as possible, I would go for the Intel. If you are a normal internet user, the 1501 might be fine.

The 1501 isn't anything special, that's for sure. I was just responding to their skepticism about it's inclusion in refurb M6600's.

If you buy from the outlet, you might still get a CM panel. The AUO and LG screens should be ok. I know there was some flickering with the LG screens turned all the way down, but I thought it was fixed with a Bios update.

The IPS panel is arguably the best you can currently buy on any laptop.

Not with the XPS 17, no. But this method has fixed about 98% of the flickering issue during the time I tested it with my battery. I can occasionally see some very little flicker (occasional meaning once in an hour or two, or maybe none at all) but it is so less that it seems like it's almost been completely eliminated, but NOT 100%. Maybe the next Dell/Intel driver will improve it, or perhaps rolling it back to an earlier driver and repeat the steps below would do a permanently fix.

1.) click once on the battery/power icon from the bottom right task tray by the clock,
    choose 'more power options',
choose 'Dell'. If you customized it, go back to Dell.
    Close the panel.

2.) Go directly to 'Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel'; you can retrieve it from windows control panel or from the task tray,
Select any Mode and hit OK,
on the left pane, select POWER,
on the top right pane of Power Source; drop down to 'On Battery',
    uncheck 'Display Power Saving Technology'.

CM + BIOS version 6 -> with digital camera I observe effect like on the video Dell U2412M LED Backlight flickering - YouTube

AUO + BIOS version 7 (latest) -> the same "moving strips" effect visible, colors better than with CM

Unfortunately I can't check IPS/LG, because there aren't shops near me with M6600 available (it's for special order only).

Generally if you have sensitive eyes, you can be very disappointed -> you can feel not only "moving strips" effect, but maybe also observe real flickering with naked eyes.

Like I said few posts ago - used by me 4 years old laptop with 60 Hz screen is better here (to clarify - it has got CCFL backlight and this is different from M6600), additionally I haven't observed effect like in the video on the Asus G74 with LED backlight and Hanstar LCD screen (it wasn't good for me from different reasons :(, but it shows, that LED backlight can be done better)

I understand, that Dell is dependend from LCD vendors (for example anti-glare shield on the AUO seems to be worse than in my old laptop), but from the second hand - M6600 should be like Ferrari or Buggatti (and currently for me it's only faster version of VW :( ).

Big shame for Dell, I advice currently to check picture quality before buying M6600 (and I will have to exchange it or buy external monitor, if Dell won't be able to resolve picture issues :( )

Mine doesn't look like that. AUO, minimum brightness, HF100. There is still some minor flickering but it is at a much higher frequency.
