Can anyone confirm that FirePro M8900 doesn't support 10bit ?
In my IT department I saw M3900 I think in W510 and he has an option to select 10BIT pixel format in Catalyst Control panel so how can it be that AMD's flagship doesn't output 10bit?
Its odd that M5950 supports 10bit and can be selected with HP's Dreamcolor.
It's the last thing I have to know before I order M6600 with 4000m or M8900.

    Thanks.

...it's odd also, that some flagship notebooks from various companies are overheating and throttling (or are producing very annoying sounds); the same odd is, that Dell's flagship series can't have stable picture on full matt display

found something ,according to this http://developer.amd.com/gpu_assets/10-Bit.pdf The firepro line does support full 10bit and you can choose it in Catalyst. 10bit output can be achieved through dual-link DVI or DisplayPort.

The XPS17 uses a 12.7mm height drive as opposed to the 9.5mm height drive in the M6600. In short, it won't fit.

Thanks. I guess I'll wait for her email. Last time I waited 5 days for a response. Granted it was over a weekend, but still. I never did hear back from her supervisor either.

I guess I'm just miffed that I have something with less functionality than I purchased. A built in IP KVM can be a really nice thing to have on occasion.

The option is there, I have it enabled, but as far as it working as intended, I don't know.

If you connect your monitor via DP or Dual-Link DVI it should work.

Hello Guys, and please accept my Best Wishes for the New Year 2012 :)

I've been a happy M6600 user for 5 months now, and - apart from malfunctioning VGA port in my dock station which has been replaced by Dell - have had no complaints. Ah - OK, those random reboots did happen sometimes, but I believe they are related to the (still immature) Optimus technology...

Today though I have found that none of my DVD disks, burnt on the M6600 from the Sony DVD Architect application - plays well on my stationary DVD player. Even though they verify fine, and play OK on the computer! So I've tried to burn the very same DVD project to the very same blank DVD brand, using my another PC - and the DVDs play back fine in both the PC and the set-top player.

Before I call Dell, could someone do me a favor please and try to burn a video DVD using the internal slot burner on their M6600, and then test such a DVD in their home theater DVD player? If there is even a single report on a success, I'll know for sure that my DVD drive is malfunctioning.

    Thanks in advance,

    Piotr

I've had the same problem with desktop PCs before. I could take a burned DVD from one PC and it would play fine on two PCs, but not another. It might be related to the type of media used , or which burning program was used.
