Dell really replaces new laptop parts for refurbished ones?
So I am glad I didn't sped 2000-3000$ for a new one. Is there any policy in Dell that they replace your machine after some number of repair times?

I'm not saying for sure anything is wrong. I may be worried about nothing. That is why I am just checking to see what others think. If these temps are borderline O.K., then I am leaving things as-is and I am not opening up the laptop or calling a service tech at all. I have no reason to want to start jacking with a computer that is otherwise working just fine.

Yes, that is true. A service tech told me that all that of the parts they are sent from Dell are indeed refurbished. The thing is that I highly doubt Dell is the only company to do this. It's just being overblown IMHO.

Run performance monitor and collect the temp stats, then correlate it in an excel. Or just run PCMark7 (free edition) or the Aida64 stability test and log the tempreture with a coretemp.

Not all parts are refurbished, but thay sure can be. When they did a panel replacement on our touch screen M6600, they sent a new lid, and a factory new touch screen still sealed in the factory bag. Too bad the imbecile tech scratched up the palm rest putting it in.

Yeah, it sucks that Dell simply won't ship you all of the parts, and let you fix stuff yourself. They will with certain things, but things like monitors must be installed by a technician. I too have had some service techs that really could care less about physically damaging your computer while repairing it. I am fully capable of breaking down this entire computer and replacing whatever needs fixing, WITHOUT damaging the mess out of the thing in the process.

When the techs came over to my house to service my old Dell, I didn't even care, I was almost over their shoulder the entire time watching them like a hawk, and basically directing them on what to do. I know it was irritating, but I had one tech flip my computer over and put it face down on my table with no kind of padding or anything. Naturally, the top cover ended up getting scuffed and scratched a little. After that, I decided to watch and direct pretty much every move that those guys make.

If you get an LG panel it's a real possibility. Both of my replacements were brand spanking new and both had a flickering LG panel.

Hi all, is it possible to replace the m8900 in m6600 wth a gtx 560m mxm version? I would prefer the quadro but they are too expensive. I plan on buying one used and selling the 8900, buying a 560m. It seems both are mxm 3.0b. Any suggestions or should is it better to keep looking for a cheap quadro version.
