    You want the Dell 5550 module, I've got it in mine. I don't have the order .pdf yet so I don't have the part number but it is listed in the order acknowledgement as "Mobile Broadband : Internal Dell Wireless 5550 MiniCard SIM not included"

    I've done a quick search based on that and come up with: Mobile Broadband : Internal Dell Wireless 5530 MiniCard 3G/HSDPA - SIM not included (Kit)

    Obviously this is not just a case of installing the card, because you also need the aerials that go around the screen. As this is not a standard part and I had to give Dell a helping hand to even know it existed for the M6600 I'm not sure if they install those aerials by default... would be worth just opening the base to check they are present before ordering otherwise you will have to buy the aerials and dismantle the screen to install them as well.

    Cheers

    I wouldn't touch the screen. There's a chat on the product page. Will try that out. Now, I am using my bb's bluetooth 3G dail-up. Troublesome. Line get's disconnected when on the phone.

    EDT: after the chat session with Dell from the link. Dell says it's not compatible with m6600. And strange thing is you have it in your m6600 machine.

    Found this:
    http://koiltoke.info/dell-refurbish...-vostro-laptops--precision-mobile-workstation

    The model number is different. Getting Dell Malaysia to quote me now.

    Don't worry, Dell "technical" presales say a lot of things as I learned yesterday...

    Take reassurance that I've managed to get them to install it and they say they are installing the 3x3 aerials into the screen at the factory. Plus the U.S site has the internal 5550 broadband card as an option you can choose by default as shown at:

    The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

    and on top of that, Notebookcheck reviewed the M6600 with the 5550 broadband unit in it:

    So thanks Dell support, but no thanks ;)

    Yup, should have known better. They are confused themselves with just too many parts/accessories.

    I can only speak about M4600 but if you choose IPS RGB screen the setup at their page doesn't allow you to add 3G MODEM.
    They say it's not compatible since this screen uses some kind of other motherboard.

    yup - I get the distinct impression that when someone asks them for a part number they play "The Crystal Maze". If they manage to grab enough Gold tickets (valid part numbers) in the time allocated then they win, more often than not they get too many silver (wrong information) and everyone loses.

    My M6600 also w/o wwan card (has not been ordered).
    But the aerials installed, as in the review of Bokeh in this photo:
    http://www.appstate.edu/~taylorsa1/m6600/m6600in.jpg

    I also need wwan, but with 21Mbps. I know that there are three models
    - ERICSSON F5521GW;
    - HuaWei EM820W;
    - HuaWei Gobi3000 (EM680).
    Does anyone have any experience of using them with the M6600?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks, Alex.

    my 2 cents:

    it seems, that Dell names AG even half matt panels (when you compare them to many other you will see, that they're looking a little bit or even a lot glossy even from small angles)

    when you will add into it repeating info (visible for example on this forum), that there is visible flickering in various panels (with LG visible even with naked eye, with AUO noticeable with digital camers) you will see, that screen design is thing, which Dell should reall work on. MAYBE even BIOS update could end flickering problem but there aren't visible concrete steps in this topic from the company side...

    additionally generic Intel driver seems not to handle brightness controls.

    shame, because M6600 is generally really nice series.

    It's a probably a nice to have item, not a must have.

    I can live with the bb tethering. Would be worth the price if only it's LTE, HSPA+ and WiMAX combined in one card

    It's the antenna connecting to the LCD that could be missing. Dell would probably not install if its not ordered to cut costs and time.

    - Huawei Device Co., Ltd..

    From the looks of it, it should fit. Next is up to the drivers. Coz it's all standard PCI-e and Windows.

    This spec looks better with the GPS. Perfect if compatible with Computrace.

    Cheaper than Dell. Huawei should be a good choice.
