In the future remember that you can tell them no. Next time check the part before they install it and reject it if it isn't what you were promised.

Yeah, I should have. I did not think in my wildest dream that they say AUO and send Chi Mei refurbished... I thought the worst I can get is an LG, and that is an upgrade from my defect LG. My main point of anger is how could a refurbished Chi Mei screen get to me? Should that not have been cancelled for M6600? They tought that is good enough for me, and I wont notice?

As the case is not closed hopefully my error will be fixed.

    Hey,

I'm curious if anyone has tried using ATI M8900 under linux and how well it works. I'm thinking of buying an m6600 and within reasonable price range I can get either M8900 or NV 3000M. There's almost no chance for me to find a good offer with NV 4000M (as there's no outlet in Poland where I live, and I've got only those offers from people who buy them in the US/UK and resell here to choose from).

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Second time around I got my AUO screen. Much better. I would say better right now then my hardware calibrated LG was.

Success! I just installed gtx 580m into Dell Precision m6600 :D

    Here are some screenshot !
from the dell bios, it cannot identify the card > unknown video card.
Windows 8 BSOD on me immediately on boot > and forced into hd3000 on 2nd boot > keep having Driver Install errors >
Then I restart and choose disable Driver signature and everything goes smoothly ! not very stable like in windows 7 (run fine because i'm not using quadro driver)

    What else can I ask for ? Multi-touch and Gtx580m :p
