Yes, it is matte. I find the brightness and color gamut is a little better on the AUO. Regardless, I have never had flickering issues with either the LG or AUO.

Some people have reported that the LG flickers if the display brightness is set very low.

hello ! some advanced format hdd drive questions.
    i am under windows 7.
just wana be sure how to proper format it.
ill used windows format tool and set sector size 4096. but WD site said that this was not nessesary and i can go with "by default" sextor size:(
will win 7 proper recognize the disk and format it at 4096 by default?
also hd tune said that my drive has 512 sectors:(

drive :Western Digital Scorpio Black <WD7500BPKT>

    thanks.

If you select the "default" sector size in Windows 7 it will most likely use 4096-bytes. Some new drives (sometimes labeled "advanced format" drives) use 4096-byte sectors internally so it is important to select this so that the sectors that the OS uses line up with the actual sectors on disk. Older or lower capacity drives use 512-byte sectors.

You can use 4096-byte sectors in Windows on a drive that actually has 512-byte sectors without any issue. The only thing that could really cause a problem would be choosing a sector size smaller than what the drive actually uses internally (that could cause a performance penalty as the drive will always have to read multiple sectors at a time, and the extra sectors may contain data that you didn't ask for, so it would be doing more work than necessary).

M6600 just got in, lowering brightness and of course it flickers. Does anyone remembers the name of the application used to get the hardware list with manufacturer etc?
Have to call dell and see if they can replace it
