    You have been CMO'd.... Crazy...
But I do need to clarify that the Dell policy for no CMO panels in the M6600 is for the North Amercian market only. Regardless, you should fight for a replacement using the NA policy as ammo. The panel you received is not business class or premium for that matter.

The Chi Mei was the panel I got when my M6600 first shipped last year in August.

Scott, you was the one who gave me the correct component number for an AU Optronics panel.
Equipped with this information, I consulted Dell support.
Dell support could not promise me to get an AU Optronics panel.
But I was one of the lucky one who got an AU Optronics panle last year as replacement for the very bad Chi Mei in first delivery.

I dont know what kind of screws there are but even if you have ordered only one harddisk (like me), is the second cage associated with the screws already installed. You dont need neither the cage nore additional screws.

Have been thinking about the Chi Mei panels that keep showing up. I know that in new machines they were pulled for not meeting the required specs and overall quality issues with the matte surface.

If the Chi Mei screens getting swapped in the field are coming back to Dell and look essentially flawless, I can see them *possibly* being reused in refurbished machines.

I guess there is also the possibility that Chi Mei is now producing panels that do meet spec and have a better look to them. Only way would be to measure them. I have still not seen one in real life.

I had my lg replaced with auo and geez this thing starts to get washed out when looking at it dead on, the type of washing out when you look at a bad display from an extreme angle. I'm sure this is an isolated defect though.

Also, has anyone heard about using ivy bridge chips in the 6600?
