Thats whats swaying me, the weight/build and thinness with cool running/quietness.

I gotta admit the V13 gets plenty of looks whenever i'm using it. :)

Right before i pull the trigger, i read that the battery only lasts up to around 300 charge cycles? Thats only a year with the 3 hour battery life....
Anybody noticed any degrading on the battery?

I might be intrested in this laptop. I'm just not sure about the screen.

How is the screen? I like good colors, nice blacks and huge brightness for outdoors. I currently have a Macbook Pro and I want a screen at least as good. V130 good buy for me?

Having the Latitude equivalent, the screen brightness is bright, decent brightness considering how cheap the notebook is. Color reproduction is kinda poor, but it is a WLED screen. Viewing angles are meh, but again given how cheap the notebook is..

Thanks man, I made my choice and go for lenovo thinkpad with ips, apparently available for less then $1k (thought those machines where always $1500 and up).

I'm sure the screen is ok for its price but after my horrible TM2 experience I never want a crappy screen again :)

Well between the x220 with IPS it is turkey shoot. If only they made the x220 with IPS and RGBLED, I would pull the trigger.

Crappy screens is really luck. Certain people will get say an LG or Chi Mei, and others AUO/Samsung.

Haven't used my machine long enough to notice but from what i've read the 300 charge cycle has been confirmed as well. Keep in mind, replacing the battery in these laptops is not hard to do via the online service manual. Also if you get the 3 year warranty I would think batteries are covered while under warranty.

I agree that the brightness level in the V13/L13/V130 is a non issue in fact the screen is VERY bright and has good colors for a cheap laptop. Viewing angles has always been a non issue for me as 100% of the time i'm sitting in front of the screen and not to the side. I wouldn't want a good viewing angle anyway as it allows for others to see what your doing especially in a work environment.

The battery is not covered under the 1 year or extended 3 year warranty, only the extended 3 year battery warranty, with both of those its an extra £150!

If you still want the V130 then Ebay would be your best bet for batteries, just make sure it's designed to work with your V130.
