I would get a Latitude or Precision any day over a T or W series Lenovo. Just my opinion.

I like the Dells better as well, but it's purely because of looks and the excellent support I've had from Dell in the past. As far as specs and robustness goes, and judging from the opinions here at NBR, they are pretty evenly matched.

I did the online chat and asked, he said theres no way to pay for a latitude with DPA (consumer side credit). I said thanks for the info and Ill be buying a not-dell then. Which sucks. No dock rules out any consumer laptops. Maybe I'll try one last time on the phone. I really want the dell, and the dock is a must have for my situation. (Dual monitors, Gbit, power, speakers, mic, AND USB? Hell no.)

Don't you have another way of paying?

Looks like my E6510 shipped out today. Ordered 4/9, shipped 4/15, not bad, much quicker than the original ETA of a month. (USA)

I've called and asked for the reverse (use Biz Credit on Home side) and they said no. BUT, in that situation I've called the Sm Biz and they are pretty much matching all the pricing and I'm switching one machine from a Studio 15 to a Vostro 3500 which I actually like better (pics look sweet and I like the bronze). They can get most of the consumer line products in the Biz side but you have to call to get the prices adjusted to the current Home deals.

Have you checked with Home side to see if they can order a Latitude direct from them with consumer credit line?

I miss docking stations too. The HP solution is really great for that, it's one proprietary cable that hooks up on the side, you don't slide it in the dock like they used to do but rest it on the dock and plug the one cable in and then you get access to everything in/through the dock (HDs included if the dock has one!). The USB solutions seem silly, though I will say I've never tried them, just can't see it working out well.

With the instant savings now being offered, the price of the E6510 has become much more reasonable. I love my new Elitebook 8540w, but I also loved my E6500 and wish I had been able to wait around for this price on the E6510.

I just ordered my E6510 through EPP with the $275 discount that Dell is now offering. I will post photos and impressions in the E6510 thread when I receive it (expected first week of May).

Anyone heard when the next round of Intel SSDs will be out? I'd really like more than 160GB.

    Cheers.

What is the LCD FHD panel like on the E6510? As good as a new Macbook Pro?
