I think the reason is that usually USB is apart of the chipset.
In the case of the M6500 the USB3 support is via an add on card.

To the best of my knowledge the M6500 is the first laptop to do this. (Dell)
Dell probably wants to avoid supporting piggy back cards on the board and are waiting for new Intel chipset's that actually have USB3 built in.
Before the newer mainstream laptops get them.

All nVidia GFX cards on Precision mobile workstations use GDDR3 memory. The ATI card on the M6500 used GDDR5 memory.

No, the FX 1800M was mentioned to utilize GDDR5 from HP's Elitebook, so it is presumed to be the same for Dell and Lenovo.

Havoctex is the precision program manager for for Dell, so it's the most accurate info you will get on these systems.

The M6500 will soon follow the M4500 with that functionality.

The ATI GFX card tend to use GDDR5 and nVidia tend to use GDDR3. One thing we have found is that when using GDDR5 you do not get E-Star certification.

    havoctex,

Will this be a BIOS Update...

The reason I ask this question is because, the M6500 has the Precision On Button
    Built in to the casing.

    Thank You in advance,
