I think the screen just like , even worse than my 4 years old t60p, I will call dell soon and see what can they do.
I cant use the screen to do anything about editing images.

    Hi absynthe21,

It's a good bone to pick apart,

But if you are going to do this, you need to state what they are on dell's website; and then what they are in Device Manager's Settings, so that everyone is on the same page.

Everyone knows what they ordered from Dell:
    1. 17" Wide Screen WUXGA RGBLED LCD Panel w/integrated camera and mic = ???
    2. 17" Wide Screen WUXGA RGBLED LCD Panel w/ Microphone = ???
    3. 17" Wide Screen WUXGA LCD Panel w/ integrated camera and Microphone = ???
    4. 17" Wide Screen WUXGA LCD Panel w/ Microphone = ???
    5. 17" Wide Screen WXGA+ LCD Panel w/ integrated camera and Microphone = ???
    6. 17" Wide Screen WXGA+ LCD Panel w/ Microphone = ???
Something like that, so everyone knows what Screen you are talking about.
And what Screen is the best Screen, as well as why.

    Just my two cents.

Thanks for your persistence, I am also guilty of overlooking your post. It will be very interesting to see how this issue unfolds.

RGB LED is the BACK LIGHTING, not the panel type/make !

If Dell is shipping WLED while speccing and charging for RGBLED, that's a bit more than just a mistake. That's a big deal -- big as in product recall.

Not sure about any one else, but I'm not smart on laptop panels. Could you provide more info on this please? Thanks.

I understand that but I believe Samsung and other brands make panels associated/assembled with their proper backlighting and ship all that together, other way how could they "advertise" for specifactions about a particular panel (with its own label name like the SEC5443 we are talking about) without knowing what backlight system (and even worth, who made it) is going to be behind, as infact, it may changes things a lot.
Maybe I'm all wrong and Samsung just sell some SEC5443 to Dell, they setup the backlighting on their side, so for extra money, you paying the RGB backlight but it disturbe me as I can't believe thing are so simple about color displaying, targeting the right gamut, and so on.

Today I contacted with Dell, Dell just asked me to run diagnostics and got the error number.
I was told Dell used LG and Samsung RGBLED, but they cant chose the it.
I hope it can be fixed, but now i cant do any work with colour on this machine.
