Bokeh, where do you get this part number J501T?
Do you think we could use other dell Monitor Drivers for M6500?

This is under system configuration (as shipped) on the Dell support site. Mine shipped with Part# J501T for the display.

    MONITOR\SEC5443 under hardware ID

    So...

    J501T = SEC5443 ?

I have an Ogio Street City that measures 17 x 12.5 x 6. Heightwise it barely fits the m6500 but is plenty big enough to carry the brick as well. Was something I picked up from BestBuy for $70ish just to see if it'd fit. Also comes with a shoulder strap

I dont know, heres what i have on packing slip:
1 Display : 17in Silver Widescreen WUXGA (1920X1200) Antiglare with RGB LED LCD Panel 230-11206
1 Camera : Integrated 2 Mega Pixel Camera with Microphone for Silver Base 319-10393
1 LCD Back Cover : Silver with RGB LED 320-11074

I ordered it in the UK. Are you ok with your screen now? The only thing we can do is open the machine and split the screen, double check the type of it.

You don't get the part number of the specific panel until it ships. All you have right now is the part number of what you ordered. When it ships, you will have the part number of what exactly shipped.

Adam, Mitchellboy and I have the same panel and are all seeing the same issues.

Glowing reds and greens even after calibration. Gamma of 1.8. Built in sRGB and aRGB modes from controlpoint are useless.

Could all have nothing to do with the panel.

The screen shows too saturation, i tried to changed it by ATI Control panel, but only thing i can change is contrast, light and dark.
As i remember, when m6400 with RGBLED came up, it cost a lot for the screen, now much cheaper but it is a worst screen. It is ok for game and movie.

Gradx, What type number do you have ?

    Look at this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=333840&page=13
checho asked for exchange the LCD (for M4400 RGB LED)
"I've got another Samsung panel. The Dell technician explain me that the partnumber is the same for both panels :/ This is the reason why they can't choice the manufacturer of the screen.
Well... the last Samsung that I've got is SEC5443 REV00, whereas the first Samsung was REV01....LG hardware ID is: LGD018F"
