Yep, with the 920. "You can do more". This is Autodesk's comment also. Lucky for me I still have my Precision M4300 as a sidekick.

While you're waiting on Dell to provide a BIOS update that will allow you to disable hyper threading, cores can be disabled via the msconfig menu. I'm not sure if this method will provide a performance increase, but it works well with my core i7 desktop (allowing W7 to only use 4 cores without hyper threading).

I bought the Space Navigator for notebook separately as its not offered in Dell Asia.
Its a wonderful device. Works well with 3dsmax and Vue. But not yet in Revit. I didnt install any third party driver for it to work as a joystick. Just for 3dsmax and Vue work only.

I tested again your file just for curiosity with the new configuration given by MannyA and the result is 20min02 (with "Dell" as Power Plan) so little less than the previous tests... Quite insignificant as the processor is the most important in term of rendering.

Me too I received a very good company discount as I am a client since more than 10 years (France, Italy and UK) and it is the main reason why I choose the M6500 (the covet version with 2x 256GB SSD!) instead of the M6400.
As I took the Insurance and the ProSupport for 5 years, I decided to order from Dell all this parts knowing that the Samsung SSD were not the best HDD...

You can also go into Task Manager...select services..
Right click the app you want like Revit and select "set affinity".
Make sure only CPU0 and CPU1 are ticked...
That way you still have all the functionality of Quad core but the Rebit app will only use 2 CPUs or one if you want.

I cannot help you as much as I would like because I didn't receive my M6500 yet.
What I can tell you is that in my M90 bios, in "performance" there is an option "multi core support" you can enable ou disable.
It seems you did not find something similar, so we will have to ask dell to add this option in the bios.

Thanks for the info Skypx and Airblazer, While I think this tip was aimed at the Revit users in here it might also be useful for testing out Cubase or other audio sequencers while waiting for the M6500 BIOS hyperthreading update :)
