Not because the tests. Just because to turn ON the laptop I need to try several times (=long minutes) before to see something on the screen (problem with the graphic card). So I do not want to take the risk to loose important jobs...

But when they will replace the MB and the GPU, I will use it as it seems to be the best system that I never used...

I just tried with 4 and the Render Time is 29min58 so still more than if I did not change nothing (20min02).

    Hi giannini,

You do have Revit selected in NVIDIA Control Panel > Program Settings Tab > Select a Program to Customize: see Picture.

And here is a great utility called Process Explorer, by Mark Russinovich. With Process Explorer, you will see all the Process on your system. If you right-click on a Process, you can do a Google search on that Process to see what is and what the process dos and set its Processor Affinity.

Ok guys, here are the results of my different tests today on Revit 2010 and M6500.

I follow the way 1 and as I already explained, I am not convince about that method (not quicker, instable and some freezing) (but perhaps I am wrong somewhere).

Way 2: imagecfg -a 0x1 " your path" was not working (see capture) and not sure about imagecfg -u " your path" and imagecfg -a 0x1 " your path" (see capture) (take care to not forget the brackets)
I think that way did not work for me.

Way 3: bcdedit /set onecpu on
How you can see on the capture, there is only one CPU at 100% but I stop the rendering at 56% when it was already 42min59!

Conclusion (but perhaps I am wrong somewhere) : better to use the computer as it is! :)

I am waiting your comments and sorry for these numerous posts but I hope it will help.

There I am, sitting at my brand new M6500. The machine was delivered today (ordered Jan 22nd - although the Laptop had already been in the UPS delivery station here in my city last friday, Jan 29th).

The 64GB SSD (non-encrypted) is from Samsung, Trim is enabled.
I like the overall built quality, but it's not sensational. The keyboard and the trackpoint are not thinkpad-quality, but acceptable.

The power brick is a joke (I even have the slim one). The Braun Analog Power Amplifier (ca. 1991) of my uncle has a smaller power adapter and that one powers 4 high end speakers! Oh, Dell... tell me this is a joke.

Overall good machine, looking forward doing software development with it the coming two years.

VERY STRANGE! I followed your configuration yesterday and I just checked and in the Program settings tab, there are "No programs were found"... when yesterday I add Revit and Photoshop was already there...
