Was it automatically cancelled or did you cancel it, and what type of ram did you order?

    No it is automatically cancelled...
I ordered the 8GB DDR3-1600 Ram...what the hell is wrong with dell? The most ridiculous thing is that now u can still order 4GB of those rams.

    Hi giannini,

In NVIDIA Control Panel > Program Settings Tab > Select a Program to Customize:

    Click the Add Button:

    Revit default location is:

    C:/Program Files/Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010/Program/Revit.exe

Where you see: “Revit Architecture 2010” you could have Revit MEP 2010, just add your flavor of Revit that you have.

That's strange, I ordered the same ram and my order was not cancelled. Did you call or e-mail them after the first delay to authorize them to continue processing your order? If not, that's why it was cancelled.

Here's a part of the e-mail that's sent out after the first delay

Your order has been delayed again and we need your permission today to continue processing your order or it will be automatically canceled
(as required by the Federal Trade Commission).

I reboot and the configuration of the NVIDIA Control Panel is still as you told me... strange. But my capture is a bit different than yours (perhaps because I installed the new drivers from the Dell web site?)

Could you please tell me if it is normal to have that error message everytime that I enter in Revit? Can I checked "Do not show me this message again" without problem?

    Thanks in advance

    giannini,

Not in the Global Settings Tab, Only In the Program Settings Tab.

Go back to the Global Settings Tab, and Hit the Restore Button and reboot your System

In all fairness to Dell, the power supply is probably as small as it can be. The machine is capable of pulling 185 watts of power at a full load, so the 210/240 watt power supply is needed. The machine and power pack are energy star 5.0 complaint. The power supply is having to comply with lots of regulatory standards from the US, the EU, and Japan while staying over 87% efficient and not allowing the adapter case to ever get too hot. At 100% load, it has to be over 90% efficient to earn its Efficiency Level V designation.

Check out the info - http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/corporate/environ/comply/precn_m6500.pdf

    http://www.energystar.gov/ia/partne...International_Efficiency_Marking_Protocol.pdf

I am sure that they will make it smaller as soon as they can. Back in 1991 it may have been easier to make a power adapter because there were fewer regulations to deal with.

In the mean time, we chose to get a powerful machine, so we have to deal with the power adapters that power them. At least you got the slim one.

Gotta run and copyright the phrase "brickmaster 5000"

Sorry for that! but to be sincere, I do not know what is better. An automatic cancellation or what happened to me...

To receive your order and being charged of the amount (large amount!) and the system is not working and they need 4 more weeks to replace the Motherboard and the Graphic Card?! And my first order (4th of December) was cancelled too...

I think you need to be very motivated to work with Dell. As a Director, it is not a rational process. I wanted to order 8 other laptops but I will wait HP or Lenovo...

For this I agree with AdamHLG, in one of his first posts http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5773481&postcount=1065, he had a very similar story than mine...

Perhaps it is an opportunity for you to reconsider your choice and look for information about the new HP. Personally, I still prefer the M6500 but I am very frustrated since 2 months... :)
