Thank you for your help, I appreciate.
I think the configuration changed when I used the "Imagecfg" way (backup of Revit.exe). Now it seems working but I do not have the same Control Panel as yours http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44284&d=1265049872

I know. But my Global Settings Tab http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44284&d=1265049872 is different than yours http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44238&d=1264985567.
I do not have anymore the list "Global presets" (with "3D App - Default Global Settings").

Do you think it is normal to have that message http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44285&d=1265049872 every time you open Revit?

    Thanks in advance.

Still working on it. Only question left to answer is whether the display can do a gamma of 2.2 natively.

Most of the other issues with the bright saturation of reds are not an issue when you keep the display brightness lowered. People editing photos will probably keep the brightness below 140 (around level 5 of 15 on the brightness scale). The saturation issues at full brightness may not be issues - they may just be how colors look with 300+ brightness and a high contrast ratio.

I have come to the conclusion that much of this discussion on color and the RGBLED display is subjective. I am waiting for people to actually get their machines and post their impressions.

bokeh (or other color management gurus),

Now that my machine is up and running and tweeked out, I need to finally address monitor calibration.

I own an eye-one display 2 calibration unit. I was going to do the following:

    1. Install latest software from x-rite website.

    2. Plug M6500 into AC power and high performance power mode to prevent any display setting changes based on battery usage.

    3. Lower brightness to 5 per the thoughts in this thread.

    4. Leave the M6500 on NTSC.

    5. Run the calibration software to generate the ICC.

I am pretty bad at color management but I could follow the steps above. Am I approaching this correctly or am I missing anything?

    Thanks!

    Adam

Just for you to illustrate my misadventures with the M6500.

The first time I pressed ON, I was waiting for an incredible start time (with 2x SSD) but the screen became a mirror...

If you are not using anything in Control Point - uninstall it and recalibrate. If you are using Control Point, switch to Adobe RGB and recalibrate.

Why? NTSC has a reduced color pallet according to Dell.

Why uninstall if you can? Adobe RGB messes up the native white point at this time.

Does it do the same with an external monitor over the vga connection?

Nothing appear even if with an external monitor... the first time I was lucky because I saw the Dell logo... now it is 10-90 chance to see the logo!

I realised that pressing FN+D sometimes I forced the screen to appear/reappear (I know that in the ControlPoint System it permit to Toggle Displays Off/On, but as my system go Off itself...)

You would be missing the most saturated blues if you chose NTSC instead of adobeRGB (although NTSC is slightly larger in other areas).

I agree that adobeRGB is a better choice than NTSC (based on a comparison of the gamut of those color spaces).

I got a call the day I found out my order had been delayed. And they just say it will arrive later. Email wise dell said they'r confident they will ship the computer in a week. And there is a link to cancel it due to the delay but I was never informed that I should authorize it again.

It seems like the 1600 ram is not even available at this moment. Does anyone received a M6500 with that ram?
