Unfortunately the latest version of CPU-Z does not provide accurate information for the core i7 920XM. Real temp is more accurate.

Any more word on setting for the BIOS?

The only thing I have done so far is ensured that Trim/AHCI is enabled.

    Outstanding. Thanks for the info.

As an aside, would you (or anyone else) happen to know if the DisplayPort to HDMI adapter passes audio through any of the Nvidia card options? Nice to have, not a deal breaker.

    YBcold,

I'm still trying to figure out what settings mannyA is referring to. The only one I'm recommending is the AHCI setting if you have a SSD.

    Havoctex,

Are you able to provide some insight on the slow read/write speeds with removable media when using the built in card reader?

LOL we have every right to sweat it after all this time....I've already had my rep confirm the part numbers ARE USB 3.0....if we have to do a return, might as well wait on the m6600 :p

By the way, does anyone know what the specs are on the bluray drive option? I've heard that it's a bluray burner, and I'm not getting my hopes up since mobile bluray drives are relatively new, but is it a single layer or dual layer recorder?

Dual layer would certainly make it a more attractive option.

Is it possible to disable discrete GPU in BIOS and run on the integrated? And if you can disable the discrete, can one assume that the discrete is no longer "drawing" any power?

There is no intergrated GPU in the M6500.

I think he's referring to the integrated IGP on the new Arrandale chips, which, since they apparently use the H55 chipset instead of the PM55 of the quad-cores, at least theoretically should be able to be used. Whether or not Dell is going to go ahead and implement it is, naturally, a separate issue...
