I'm still on the Dell install of 64 bit Win 7 (I stopped our IT people doing a clean install in the interests of getting the machine to me quicker, on the basis I'd do it myself later). Anyway, all my CS4 products installed without any issues, including premiere and after effects. In fact no problems with the Dell windows installation at all so far, so I'll probably stick with it.

It's always a good idea to refresh/reinstall your OS every year or so, to clean up and realign the data. Too bad it has to be done from day one though. :(

Well, same here...I thoroughly checked out the DELL installation, and really it was in the same shape had I done a clean install myself.

I did run Perfectdisk after cleaning the registry, and all the normal maintenance stuff right away.

I'm going to turn on USB 3.0 now in the bIOS, and reboot and run the HD attached to that port....will report back.

EDIT: I enabled USB 3.0 in the BIOS. Windows 7 (Dell Install :) ) installed the device drivers successfully and the ports are USB 2.0 compatible. Didn't I read someone having trouble with this? Thread is BIG.....;)

unfortunately i have no AV installed. Its just the standard boot up programs that dell ships with the computer that boot up right now. I tried to install through safemode but apparently win7pro safemode is uber safe as nothing is enabled.

Hello, I have a little problem. When I start/reboot/hybernate and after Windows 7 is fully loaded my screen goes black for just a second. This only happens at that time.

I wish to know if someone else have the same problem.

I'm using free Panda Cloud AntiVirus right now...very light on resources...got some good press so wanted to see how their nano AV engine works....seems good.

PS: I've found a bag for 64 bucks at Best Buy...the SOLO...works perfect for the m6500, slim Brick, notebook cooler, etc etc...

I pack up everyday, and it's great....top loading which is what I prefer.

Mine always flashes for a millisecond like you say, but it's just drivers loading...I don't consider it a problem. I have NVIDIA BTW.

I'm having now a issues with my RGB screen (it's a LG) along the USB 3.0 that is still unsolved.

So basically colours at the bottom left corner are not uniform at all, there is a greenish tint 4 cm large and a red glowing spot at the very bottom left corner. This issue is very evident on white/grey images.

Has anyone experienced similar issue... is that normal on these LG LEDRGB screens?

    any opinion is welcome.

    cheers
