    Hi peon01,

You have two choices, one on the Small & Medium Business website; call the
1-888-782-3355 Number in the USA or use your CC, call the number and get a dell rep.
And on this website I would wait until the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 wireless card
Option is available, and or ask your new rep about the Intel Ultimate-N 6300 wireless card.

Or you could order your M6500 from the Large Business section
the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 wireless card Option is available here.
Call 1-877-671-3355 in the USA. On the website I would ask your new dell rep about the
Dell Precision M6500 Mobile TAA Workstation for Quad Core Processors w/ USB 3 Option,
read about this Option First, To familiarize yourself with the Option.

You may have to pay more for this Option, and wait longer for your M6500 but
I think it’s worth the time and money...

Hey guys, I've tried some of the profiles on the last few pages and every time I load a profile I end up with a Purple tint. Any advise as to how to fix this problem?

I am missing the menu key. Does anybody know of a way to simulate the menu key through some other key combination?

I know Shift+F10, but that does not work well in the start menu of win7 when I search an app by entering parts of its name in the search box and then use cursor-up/down to select a found program and open its context menu to choose "Run as Admin". Shift+F10 only brings up the context menu of the search box not that of the selected applicaton.

I'm getting about 2.75 with the power saving kicked in (refresh down, etc with the Dell modes) - probably no longer. 920XM, dual encrypted Samsungs. It's acceptable for what I was expecting, although I do wish subsequent machines will also incorporate IGP'swith reasonable 3D grunt to save carrying another battery when you want to make more than one battery-powered meeting.

    Hi SvenC,

Just Right-Click the application, and select Run as Admin.

and or right-click the application and select properties
Then put a check mark in run as admin

Oh yeah, I hate these all-in one threads so may lost track of this convo but does anyone have PCMark Vantage HDD results they can share? I'm a little intrigued at the results I'm getting from my Samsungs.

The only other laptop I've bothered to benchmark in PCMark for a while is one of the OCZ'd (all of my Vertexes are early to mid 09) Macbook Pro, which when testing would have been a 2.9 C2D - and that returns a 12275 HDD Test Suite figure. The 920XM M6500 with the encrypted Samsungs delivers 11094.

It's not a big deal - everything launches as I want it and once I get everything set up as I want it I plan to deploy the full security suite - but I was curious.

Just became the proud orderer of a M6500, yeah!

I appologize if this has been asked before, I have tried searching...

I purchased the M6500 with a 500GB, 7200 HD. I would like to buy a SSD for the OS and use the HD for data. Here are my questions:

What SSD would you recommend? (I would like ~60-80 GB)

Would I notice a big difference with the SSD than without (speed wise)?

Are the M6500 being shipped with the 2nd HD caddie or do you have to buy it seperate? If seperate, does anyone have a link to the Dell site? I have the third party link that was posted in the beginning of the thread. Thanks for the help!

    Hi mannyA,

thanks for the suggestion. I know how to set apps to always run as admin.

But I have some apps where I manually choose "run as admin" so that I can start it with or without true admin privileges. So I do use the context menu intentionally. Its a bit of a pain having to leave the keyboard just to get to that context menu.

Intel G2 SSD or Vertex or Vertex LE
You would notice a huge difference
The M6500 I recently setup for an employee had the second caddie included already. Nothing extra was needed.
