New M6500 Discussion Thread

Oh yeah, I'm still looking for a stand by the way. This will be the case even if I do decide to switch to the HP's.

I'm looking for a smart stand which puts the monitor at eye level comparative to a 3008. I use an E-dock at the office, but at home the desks back onto walls which makes the E-arrangement too deep.

I've dug up a couple of old PORT stands which functionally aren't bad at all, but being all-light-duty plastic they're much creakier than I'd like and also they're blue, which clashes.

The cant on the stand on Page 2 of the linked review illustrates the kind of rise I want out of a stand.

Any suggestions?

 

LOL....yeah, once you see the word 'ship' in anything from Dell, it goes out pretty quickly....hell ya man, put it in your sig and gloat some!!

 

I'm treading on very dangerous ground at home... I work day shift tomorrow and my wife works night shift. So I have to ask my wife not to go anywhere tommorow, don't do anything except wait by the front door with the phone in her hand, not even to use the bathroom. If we miss delivery then I have to wait another day and pick it up in town.

 

you might be able to call up fedex and ask if there is any way for them to either hold it at the distribution center or for them to leave it at your door. Though they may say the driver has to try to deliver it once before they can do such things.

My replacement for the standard m6500 I have now is scheduled for delivery 4/21/10 after one delay notice.

we'll see what happens Tues.

Hey, there is NO possible weird configuration with the Precision....especially if you're like me with trifocals....what is it?

 

Well I bit the bullet and added it to my signature even though I won't get it until Tuesday. The 640 G Hdd refers to a WD Scorpio Blue I will put in the second bay.
