    Hi

I wrote to dell to get some more information about my delivery day.
They said that my last status was "Ship complete" on april the 17th.
But my status on the dell site is still "in production".
So what do you think, how long can it take?

The Dell guy said that it should be here nex week, but shouldnt it be faster as their status is "ship complet". Am a bit confused...

Ok, I've had my M6500 for just over a month now, love the machine. However, it randomly just freezes. Have not seen anything on here by other users as having same problem as mine:

System does not blue screen; does not shut down; just freezes. Mouse cursor stays where it is, screen stays where it is with current picture, and the only thing to do is press and hold power button for 5 seconds, which turns off the machine.

I've uninstalled just about every driver imaginable, but have not yet reloaded the system from scratch. This happened with Dell touchpad, Synaptic touchpad, win7 drivers, mouse plugged in/mouse not plugged in, Dell Audio/Win7 native audio/ etc...

The system was freezing out of the box from the first day I had it, not after having installed any apps. I thought it was temporary/ that I'd google it and sort it out, went ahead and installed apps anyway.

The only thing that comes to mind is I have the RAID 0 w/ dual 128GB SSD's (Samsungs which came from Dell with my order).

It does this at least 2-4 times per day. I might decide to reload system completely and scrap the RAID0, just to see if that's the problem, but I have this nagging fear in the back of my head that it might be a hardware issue.

This is a Covet, with all of the choosable options having been chosen as
    i7-920xm
    2x 128GB SSD's Samsung RAID 0
    2x 4GB 1333mhz RAM
    USB 2.0 (pre 3.0 order)
    FIPS Fingerprint, Smartcard/Contactless smartcard readers

    Anyone experiencing similar issues?

I've not called Dell ProSupport yet because I wanted to exhaust all of my own options first.

ddk632 - Try using MSCONFIG and disabling the Cyberlink PowerDVD startup program.

Back when I had a Latitude D830, I noticed this program caused random freezes and excessively long UAC prompts in Windows Vista. For example, when a UAC prompt with occur, the system would freeze for three or more minutes before showing the prompt.

Through trial and error (took me the better part of an afternoon), I isolated the cause to PowerDVD and removed it. Never had a problem with UAC again.

Fast Forward to my new M6500. I also started noticing some random freezes when I first loaded my tools on the machine (Visual Studio, etc). This occurred frequently on boot up after the desktop loaded -- and could be identified by watching the second hand of the sidebar clock freezing.

So once again, I disabled the Cyberlink PowerDVD component. And the random freezes stopped.

    Hope this helps...

Great, I will try that tonight; I can't remember if I have it installed but am thankful someone was able to recognize what might be going on.

    Definitely helpful, thanks gripper!

Interesting post. I get random freezes too - just like the poster described above. When I first got the machine, the random freezes happened with greater frequency. Now, a few months later, it still happens but not as often. I'll try the fix when it happens again.
