    @mannyA:
The video you linked shows good general tips, but it won't work exactly like this for the M6500 because it has no standard 13mm DVD slot but a 10mm slot. So the caddy shown in this video will not fit.

    Edit:
Ok, back to those linux command outputs. I'm lazy. I'll just link to some outputs. I created the following article for the wiki of debianforum.de. Therefore all the blather is in german, but since IT is english, even in germany, it should still be easy to understand:

Sound quality sounds just as good to me on the standard Windows sound drivers. If you don't like it, you can always re-install the Dell drivers from the website I linked you to. ^_^

The touchpad controls should be accessible in the Control Panel or the little icon in your taskbar tray. ^_^

Haha, now that you have mentioned it, I am noticing the squeaky sound more. Arghhh!!! *LOL* I will have to pull out my external Alienware TactX Keyboard that Dell gave me now.

Thinking of two fast SSD's and running them in raid 0. Is this a problem with Trim? Any caveats?

Well, my Covet will be here tomorrow so i was looking over the spec list again to make sure i ddin't miss anything and saw somehting that looked weird. There is a line item on the invoice that says they are shipping the system without the Dell control Point Wireless manager

468-4760 DCP Connection Manager Removed for Latitude, Mobile Precision

Has anyone else been seeing this in there invoice list? Not sure if I really want it anyways, but wan't to know why the one I have now has it and the one they are sending will not.

My other question is I will be keeping the SSD drive with the OS installed on it and was hoping to just swap it over to the Covet once it arrives. The specs are Identical except for USB 3.0. Aside from 3.0 does anyone thing I will have any probelms?

Windows 7 will install the USB 3.0 driver when it gets to desktop.

Let us KNOW about that connection manager issue. I'd like an excuse to uninstall it. Keep us posted on that!!

PS: do you have the intel 6300? I just got one from a board member for 38 bux shipped....and I'd have to say it's worth it. Appears not to be just marketing hype. Great signals and it connects faster it seems.

Are there any specs on the performance of the 64GB SSD card?

That's what I am doing. I have the 64GB ssd mini card as my OS drive (with TRIM enabled). Then have 2 256GB SSD in RAID 0 for my data drive. I don't have much to report as its early.. but my system screams right now.

This was a good article on SSD RAID vs TRIM support.
    http://www.anandtech.com/show/3618/intel-x25v-in-raid0-faster-than-x25m-g2-for-250/6

I followed the instructions on a clean wipe of the 2 raid drives and leaving 10% unallocated disk on the array. I usually rebuild my system at least once a year.. so I thought I would give it a try and see how it went.

btw.. the ssd mini card got a 7.2 on disk transfer rate on the Windows experience benchmark. Not sure what that really tells.. but looks good.

    Mine too.

1 468-4760 DCP Connection Manager Removed for Latitude, Mobile Precision

    We'll see.

Plus, even though it's not a configuration option still, you can order the 6500 with the intel 6300 card if you talk to a rep. Mine's configured with it in the build.

Do you think you could run ATTO or AS SSD Benchmark or CrystalDiskBench on the mini card? I would greatly appreciate it!
