    @havoctex:
    You are from Dell if I understood this correctly. Could you please try to find out why the M6500 is everywhere advertised to be sold with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3, but is not actually available with it?

    thanks...was awaiting that....:)

    EDIT: installed fine, no problems....left Hyperthreading ENABLED. One thing I've learned over the years is you'll have a better functioning machine if you let 'windows' and the hardware run the way it was intended to run. DOS and the relating hacking days are over pretty much :).

    Thank you all! I just change my SATA configuration from ACHI to ATA, and I can run the windows PE, and all of my files in the hard drive. I am using ATA to install my OS again, i think theres some problem of sata driver since I updated bios. Be careful when u update it.
    Thanks again !

    Did anyone else here have the misfortune to get the Intel 5150 WiMax/WiFi card?

    It was only offered in December. I got one and it has worked/crashed intermittently for the last month. Today I called Dell and spent four hours trying to update the drivers and now it does not work at all.

    Several folks on other forums are having trouble making it work with Win7. Then I see Intel has discontinued it without a replacement. (Not a good sign.) The Dell rep said I should reinstall Win7 but I'm worried that will be two days of wasted work only to find the device is bogus.

    Does anyone else have any info?

    Thanks.

    After I reinstall the win7, everything looks fine, however i cant install the sata driver because i only format the driver C:(From the bios menu i cant choose ACHI or RAID), I talked to engineer and was told because the updated bios reset the hard drive and i need to format the whole drive and do a clean install! i got 500G hard drive and i have no idea how to back up my files because i updated the A03! I mean its a bios update not the hard drive firmware update, HOW could it reset the hard drive!
