Which drive would be the fastest on average - normal daily usage: Hitachi 250GB 5400rpm vs RunCore 128GB ZIF PATA (fitted in the V13 with a ZIF PATA to SATA adpater) ?
    Thanks

guys having a biggish issue here. Ive installed a dell 5530 in my vostro v13.

after a lot of issues with drivers not installed, i found a package that had them extracted already and manually installed them.

drivers are working fine, device manager reports no errors.

if i go into phone and modem = i can see the 5530, i can query it and everything works.

my issue is: ive installed dell wireless manager = no broadband modem.
ive installed ericsson wireless manager = no broadband modem.

im at a loss to figure out how to use the modem, and would appreciate help please.

ive attached the log file for the modem query to confirm it is working.

anybody has a walkthrough how to set up a broadband connection in windows 7? i see one in my network centre that is related to the 5530, but i cant dial. i tried the AT command to add the apn, but i dont think that worked as im getting error 734 all the time.

    appreciate the help

I had the same problem on my m6400 whan I installed the 5530 and used dell & SE wireless manager - No broadband modem

Yesterday I uninstalled the wireless 5530 HSPA thingy i had installed previously in - control panel - uninstall a program - and I think after a restart windows 7 brought up a warning and offered to download and install this - DELL_WIRELESS-5530-HSPA-MINI_A06_R220878 (mines 64bit Windows by the way) and when I loaded up wireless manager all was well - Broadband modem and sim all appeared to be working. Haven't used it yet though, no credit on my O2 sim atm.

How long did it take - start to finish for you to get your V13's ?

I ordered on 2/13 and have been given and EDD of 3/5
Website says "In Production" - Phone says "Order Processing"
Rep says " No Problem with order - progressing fine"

Is 3/5 a realistic EDD or will I see it before ?

    Just Curious :)

I got mine quite a bit before the estimated date. Like a over week before.

    Ordered 02/03/2010
Estimated delivery date (3-5 days shipping chosen) was 21/03/2010
    Actual shipping date 02/09/2010
    Actual delivery date 02/11/2010

By the way, it arrived via FedEx and was very cold when it arrived (10 degrees Celsius). Condensation will form inside if you open it indoors at that temperature so I left mine for well over an hour to warm up before opening it.

I wonder if Dell realized what FedEx does to their products.

i will post the files and walkthrough tomorrow, im not at home tonight.
