Thanks for the advice! I got my Envy 13 in the mail today, and so far I am impressed. I am still thinking about trying the V13/Latitude 13 out just in case, but I think it will be a step down (on paper anyways). That being said, I will give Dell a call tomorrow to see about a discount on their 64GB SSD.

I received my replacement V13. install windows 7 and the microphone works fine. I might get another v13 at the outlet if Dell give the 15% coupon out. Take my v13 50s to boot up windows 7 ultimate. I am happy with my new laptop

Finally I found why several can't use that OC tool.
DELL has changed clock generator model in laptop shipped recently.
    From RTM875T-606 to ICS 9LPRS365BGLF
That's why nothing happens after running that tool.

I just tested this ICS PLL, unfortunately, it's also a TME enabled one... So, just forget this OC thing...

I am not satisfied with my new Vostro V13 (Celeron, Windows 7) which arrived a few days ago.

    The problems:

    1. Loose screw

There must a loose screw or something else within the body. It makes loud noises if I move the V13. There is something rolling from side to side. Because of that Dell want's to send a technician, who did not call on friday allthough promised by the support.

    2. Harddisk vibrations

Before buying the V13 I read about vibration problems with the 7,200 rpm hardisk. Because of that I ordered the smaller 5,400 rpm harddisk. But it has the same problem: You feel the harddisk vibrating at your palms or lap.

    3. Reboot instead of shutdown

Last problem with this completely new V13 without having installed any software: It is not possible to shut it down. It reboots instantly.

    Regards from Germany,
    Hubert

You'd better call Dell or talk to an online support agent to demand a replacement.
Although I've replaced my 5400rpm HD to SSD, I don't remember it made such vibration before.

I had the 7200rpm in mine also and vibration and noise were annoying. I changed the drive for a 5400rpm and now it's almost completely noiseless. I was considering changing the 5400rpm for a 128GB SSD but I'm not sure if it's worth the cost in terms of speed increase.
