    5literpower, are you still satisfied with the V13? It's uncanny how our needs/goals for this laptop are similar!

    I intend my V13 (ordered yesterday, SU7300, 4gb) to be my mobile Visual Studio 2010 station. I'm a bit worried about the battery after reading the reviews, I really hope I can squeeze out 3 hours + of coding on it. I also had a Inspiron 6000 before, just like you.

    I welcome any additional feedback you have since you've posted this!

    How likely is it that Dell will update the V13/L13 with an i3 (or i7 ULV) within the next couple of months? I love almost everything about this notebook except the specs. Also, a HDMI port and removable battery would be awesome.

    I "downgraded" mine from the 7200RPM to a new 5400RPM HD because of the noise and some vibration. The 5400rpm HD has solved all these issues. It's almost noiseless..
    Only hear the fan when I do heavy processing.

    I was hoping that my Latitude 13 would be delivered Saturday, but unfortunately I will not get it until Monday :-(

    Anyhow, I ordered the Core 2 Duo with a 64GB SSD running Ubuntu. While the noise will not be a issue, the lack of storage may be. I will give it a try this week, and decide on sending it back or keeping my Envy 13, which has to be postmarked by next Saturday.

    Just received my V13. I am impressed by the build quality. Keyboard is not as bad as reviews made it seem. I do wish we could upgrade to backlit version. A few other questions I have...

    1) Anyone find out if Adamo's backlit keyboard would work on this?
    2) Will there ever be a higher capacity battery available?
    3) Dell Quickset or Control Point available?...I like having screen brightness & volume meters.

    No, unless you want to do hardware mod, not recommended.

    1) no, looks same, but actually not interchangeable;
    2) not yet
    3) none of them work on V13, the only way is to use fn+other key to control volume and brightness.

    Thank you. BTW, I'm happy with the laptop now. I just get a 17" studio from Dell outlet :)
