They should take it when the order is shipped because that, technically, is when the transaction occurs.

Any monies taken before the product ships should be immediately returned to you upon your request. They probably will take money from some ppl earlier and generate interest on that. If you're ok with Dell making more money of your sale, then let them take the money earlier They haven't taken money from me yet as the item hasn't shipped but if they did, they would get an earful from me.

 

Yeah, thats why places like EB Games + Gamestop take pre-orders, because they gain money from them.

 

dell doesnt actually charge the card they put a hold on the amount then charge you when its shipped.

 

Hahaha, ordered mid-July and should have received August 3. The delay notice said August 21... I am so frustrated I can't think straight

Haha, hope that it's next day delivery. Most people who received the upgrade have been getting the regular 3-5 day ground delivery.

 

you can add me to that list... shipped 27th..emailed say next day, but DHL says ground

 

I'm worried about that too. Mine shipped yesterday but it says:
Est. Delivery Date: 8/1/2007-8/3/2007

Which seems like 3-5 day to me. The e-mail says:
Shipping Method: Next Business Day Delivery

Carrier: Standard Overnight FedEx

but I don't have the tracking number yet, so there's no way to know for sure...
