    Ok....A02 or A03 never downclock for me, switched back from A11 yesterday and everything ran great.

    @StievieD
    If correct colors are important you should really only judge a display AFTER color calibration with an external calibrator. Even my 2CCFL looks great after calibration while it looked pretty washed out when i got it. I'm using it next to a Dell 2709w screen which has an S-MVA panel which was the complete opposite, colors were oversaturated but now both screens show (almost) the exact same colors

    I used a Huey with my RGBLED screen and the colours match my old laptop pretty well. That said, I do find that moving my head only a little off-axis leads to the sides of the screen taking on a rather pink hue. I also find the screen less easy on the eyes than the WUXGA one on my old D800 but given the improvement (the lowest brightness on the RGBLED is about the same as the maximum brightness on the old one) makes up for it...

    Yeah i used a Huey too....great little tool and cheap. I usually have the 2CCFL at 40%-50% brightness in daylight conditions....any higher than that is pretty harsh on the eyes indeed.
    My main problem at first was the light bleed at the bottom of the screen but have to admit it doesn't bother me that much anymore, at lower brightness it's not that obvious and the calibrations helped a little too.....i can still see it when watching movies when there's a lot of black or dark colors in screen

    Which programs put the most strain on the GPU? I only ask since I've yet to see my 1700M go much above 70 degrees on anything. With the card updated to 181.20 I've been getting about 5,400 in 3DMark06 but have no idea whether that's par for the course...

    None of my apps really stress the GPU...real stress will come from games, Far Cry 2 will get it to 81c when overclocked @ 600/900/1600...but 3DMark06 is over 7000 with those settings. Default settings would give between 5400-5600 with the FX 770 and i'm still using the stock Dell drivers...did u get the 181.20 from laptopvideo2go? If so, link please? :D

    The M4400 is a really great screen. Beside the M6400s RGB-LED the best notebook display I used. Sonys screens are glossy, therefor it would probably have a better contrast + more vivid colors, but you get some reflections.

    Why not? 45sec. no.

    yes :D

    Very subjectiv! I carry a M6400 around, so the M4400 was very light and portable :D
    What is beautiful? It's not a design notebook. It's a workhorse with a fancy cover.

    For CAD, Maya and other Open GL apps you don't want a consumer graficcard (GeForce 9300) with a cinema screen 16:9 13" screen, way to small and slow. The FX 770M is a dedicated certificated professional graficcard and 3 times faster than the vaio card.

    I think you don't know what you really want. Those two are not comparable. I would go for what you need (performance) and not what you want (fancy, design book).

    @civil

    Not all the WUXGA screens are RGB LED, mine is a 2CCFL screen and i have to say the colors are very good after calibration. Still, if the RGB LED was available when i bought it i would've gotten that one.
    I don't really know the exact weight of my m4400 but i carry it to and from my studio daily without problems and there's quite a lot of other stuff in my bag too so it's definetly not too heavy.
    If you want to see pics search for m4400 review on this site, lots of pictures there and also in other threads.

    I think i would go for the m4400 if i were you and i'm not just saying that because i own one. For performance none of the other lappys come close, not even the macbook pro. I don't know what your budget is but you can configure this machine to be a monster really...a monster driving a tank ;) lol

    btw...Why Do All Your Words Start With A Capitol Letter? Lol...It's Confusing!
