    Still, I was looking for a system with the specs you posted (and have been looking for weeks), and didn't see that one. Good find, enjoy!

    Edit: What OS did it come with? That might be why I didn't see it, I was looking for Vista Ultimate only.

    Previous discussions have said its color is good and it's quite bright. It's the screen I'm getting too.

    I just found and had them place on hold a T9600/4GB/320GB/1700M/9cell/backlit/internal FP reader for about $1400 shipped (thanks to your coupon).

    Sorry to go back to it, but what has everyone been running to get their graphics cards to get so hot?

    I've tried Furmark, Crysis and pretty much everything else I can throw at my 1700M and have yet to hit more than 72 degrees. I've been getting about 5,400 in 3DMark06 at 1280x1024, I'm not sure whether that's about average...

    @Xirurg

    The standard CCFL is a 2CCFL...supposed to give more even lighting but that's not the case here, there is some light "bleed" from the bottom light. Actually 4-5cm wide. But with brightness between 40-50% it's not that obvious and as said, be sure to get a screen calibrator somewhere and the screen will be great. I bought a Pantone Huey Pro which does it's job perfectly and should be around 80 bucks.

    The card runs hot with several games...i usually play Far Cry 2 and that definetly causes overheating and so did Crysis when i tried it. BUT...only with newer BIOS versions and even then results vary greatly, some never get any so....you're probably one of the lucky ones or the extra $$ for the FX 1700 is finally paying off in one area ;). When i OC the FX 770 to 600/900/1600 (from 500/800/1250) i get around 7000-7200 in 3dMark06 and in gaming it won't go over 81c with bios A02 or A03...i do have the back of the laptop on an old LaCie external HDD though and i've applied AS% which definetly helped around 5c

    Same here...I can't get mine over 81C and that o/c'd....I can't figure why some owners have this 'downclocking' issue and most don't....I hope we can get to the bottom of it as I'd really like to know myself. I'm using BIOS A11...machine is very quiet, and cool. My was built in mid December...I'm gonna crack it open and look under the heat sinks when I get a chance.

    Well I'm using A11 at the moment. I gave A03 a try but it didn't seem to make much difference. I have got the back of the latop propped up about an inch but will try it with it flat on the desk.

    What sort of 3DMark06 scores are people with WUXGA screens getting (770M or 1700M)?

    Didn't pay a penny for it - since I was ordering the laptop through a company I just dropped that I might be ordering several more if it was up to scratch and the previously "impossible" upgrades and discounts materialised :D

    Hey Doc....have a link to Nvidia's site for a driver for these 770's? I can't find the card on the site...what's up with that?

    Despite having recently decided to let GeForce and NVS laptop owners download drivers direct from them rather than wait 10 million years for the manufacturer to provide them, they don't offer them for Quadro FX cards (mostly because of certification issues, I think).

    I've just been using the Laptopvideo2go drivers which all seem to have been working resonably well (and enable GPU power optimisation in the power plan settings).
